It’s Friday so it’s time for another holiday card share!  Sandi MacIver (my upline) and I have both created cards using the Snowflake Soiree stamp set from Stampin’ Up! to share with you today.  The Snowflake Soiree stamp set is one of the holiday items that isn’t in either of the catalogs.  To see the complete list of holiday stamp sets and accessories that aren’t in the catalogs but are still available, click here.  And once you take a peek at my card, be sure to head over to check out Sandi’s card too!

My card design was inspired by Retrosketches #85.

I started by stamping the snowflake images from the Snowflake Soiree stamp set in Whisper White Craft ink on a Basic Black panel.  Then I sprinkled them with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed them.  I sponged the edges and around the snowflakes with Whisper White Craft Ink to give the panel the chalkboard effect and I adhered the stamped panel to a Basic Black card base with SNAIL.  Then I adhered a strip of Season of Style DSP with SNAIL to the right side of the card and I adhered a strip of the Delicate Details Lace Tape over the DSP strip.  I cut the strip of Delicate Details Lace tape in half length-wise to get twice as many cards done with one roll…I’m cheap and try to conserve when you can’t see it anyway.  🙂

I stamped the snowflake images again in StazOn Jet Black and the sentiment from the Joy to the World stamp set in Cherry Cobbler ink on a Whisper White panel.  Next, I adhered the stamped panel to a Cherry Cobbler panel with SNAIL.  To conserve ribbon, when I added the ribbon to the card I made a loop from about 3 inches of Cherry Cobbler 1″ Stitched Edge Grosgrain Ribbon ribbon and I adhered it with SNAIL to the Whisper White panel.  Then I added a small 3/4″ piece of ribbon to the bottom of the Whisper White panel using SNAIL to adhere it also.  That saves about 3″ of ribbon on each card and no one can tell (yep, I’m still cheap!!).  🙂  I adhered the stamped panel to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals, then adhered a Frosted Finishes Embellishment with Glue Dots to finish the card front.

I finished the inside of the card by stamping the sentiment from the More Merry Messages stamp set and the snowflake images in StazOn Jet Black on a Whisper White panel.
