Special Season In Always Artichoke and Crumb Cake – Stampin’ Up!

I used the Special Season stamp set and a little bit of Iridescent Ice Stampin’ Emboss Powder from Stampin’ Up! to create my card share for today.  This is another one of those fairly flat, easy to mail cards that only require one stamp.  The colors for my card were inspired by the Dynamic Duos #78.

Special Season - Stamp With Amy K

I started by embossing a panel of Crumb Cake card stock with the Woodgrain Embossing Folder then adhering it to an Always Artichoke card base.  Then I embossed a panel of Crumb Cake Core’dinations Card Stock from the Neutrals Core’dinations Card Stock pack with the Pretty Print Embossing Folder.  I sanded the embossed pattern with my Stampin’ Sanding Block then cut the embossed panel in half from corner to corner to create two triangles.  I adhered the embossed panels to two Always Artichoke triangles.

Special Season 2 - Stamp With Amy K

I stamped the tree image from the Special Season stamp set (wood mount and clear mount) in Always Artichoke ink on a Crumb Cake panel, then I stamped the small splatter image from the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set (wood mount and clear mount) in Whisper White Stampin’ Craft Ink overtop of the tree image.  I sprinkled the craft ink with Iridescent Ice Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed the images to give the dots the appearance of snow.  I layered the stamped image over an Always Artichoke panel and adhered the layered panel to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Then I stamped the sentiment from the Petite Pairs stamp set (wood mount and clear mount) in Always Artichoke ink on a Crumb Cake panel and I colored the pinecone image from the Special Season stamp set with my Stampin’ Write Markers and stamped it below the sentiment.  I punched out the sentiment with the Large Oval Punch and adhered it to a Scallop Oval Punch from Always Artichoke card stock.  The sentiment was adhered the card front with SNAIL on the left side and Stampin’ Dimensionals on the right.

Special Season 3 - Stamp With Amy K

I stamped the sentiment from the Special Season stamp set in Always Artichoke ink on a Crumb Cake panel, then colored the pinecone image again with my Stampin’ Write Markers and stamped it below the sentiment to complete the inside of the card.

The complete supply list, including card stock cuts, is listed at the very bottom of this post.

  1. This card has a very rustic elegance and nostalgic feel that is a great addition to your Christmas cards, Amy. So many amazing detail layered so beautifully- the script on the Core’dinations, the Grunge, and the bling! Thanks for sharing at Dynamic Duos- I love perusing your site- it is so well done!

  2. Love this card and just received my Stampin Up embossing folder (pretty print) today and was anxious to use it and there was your post for it. The only problem I see with making my card is that after I emboss and cut the printing is going up and down instead of across like it shows in your card. How do I get it to show sideways and the triangle shape look like your does? Thank You

    • Thanks so much for your comments! To answer your question, I started with a 3″ x 4-1/4″ panel of the Core’dinations card stock. Then I cut it in half from corner to corner (placed it across my Stampin’ Trimmer with the corners over the cut lines). I took the two pieces and put them back together, just like they were before I cut them, and placed them in the embossing folder sideways and ran it through the Big Shot that way. Hope this answered your question but I’ll drop you an email in a second with a few more details. 🙂

  3. For a “flat” card, there is a lot going on here! I love all your embossed layers–they add so much richness and interest to the card, in the subdued challenge colours. My favorite part is the snow, gently “falling” onto the spruce tree. Thanks for linking up with Dynamic Duos this week!

  4. Love all these layers, Amy! Beautiful embossing and stamping, too! Love the splatter/snow effect! Thanks for joining the Dynamic Duos!
