Bright Backyard Basics Card – Stampin’ Up!

I used the Backyard Basics and A Dozen Thoughts stamp sets from Stampin’ Up! to create a bright card to share with you today.  We’re supposed to be rainy and cool all day so I thought this card was the perfect thing to post!  🙂

My card design was inspired by the Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge 289.

Backyard Basics - Stamp With Amy K

I started by embossing a panel of Melon Mambo Core’dinations Card Stock (from the Brights Core’dinations Card Stock pack on sale through Dec 2 for 30% off) with the Modern Mosaic Embossing Folder.  I sanded the raised areas with my Stampin’ Sanding Block and adhered the panel to a Whisper White panel, then to a Pear Pizzazz card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Backyard Basics 1 - Stamp With Amy K

I adhered a strip of Gingham Garden DSP to a Whisper White panel, then to the card front with SNAIL.  I stamped the tulip images from the Backyard Basics stamp set (wood mount and clear mount) in StazOn Jet Black Ink on a Whisper White panel, colored them with my Stampin’ Write Markers and I cut them out with the matching Backyard Basics Framelits Die (Weekly Deal through Nov 25 for 25% off).

Don’t forget that you can purchase the Backyard Basics stamp set and Framelits Dies in a bundle and save 15% (wood mount and clear mount).

Backyard Basics 2 - Stamp With Amy K

The sentiment from the A Dozen Thoughts stamp set (wood mount and clear mount) was stamped in Pear Pizzazz ink and layered it over a Pear Pizzazz strip.  I used the Hexagon Punch to create the banner end.  I adhered the three tulips together, then to the card front with Glue Dots and added a little bow tied from Melon Mambo 1/8″ Taffeta Ribbon to the stems so they looked more like a bouquet.  I added some random Rhinestone Basic Jewels to complete the card front.

Backyard Basics 3 - Stamp With Amy K

I used some leftover strips of Melon Mambo Core’dinations Card Stock and Gingham Garden DSP to finish the inside of the card.  Hope that my card brightened up your day!!

The complete list of supplies, including card stock cuts, to create the crayon and notecard holders is at the very bottom of this post.
