Hardwood Sneak Peek – Stampin’ Up!

I’ve got another sneak peek at a new stamp set from the upcoming 2014 Occasions Catalog from Stampin’ Up!  They’ve got a beautiful new background stamp called Hardwood, I love it!  I was one of the first items added to my preorder and I’ve used it to create a masculine birthday card to share with you today.

Sandi MacIver asked me to be a part of the Design Team for her Stamping & Blogging site and I made this card for their Sketch Challenge this week.  You can see more about the Stamping & Blogging site here.

Hardwood & Wetlands - Stamp With Amy K

I started by stamping the Hardwood image (available Jan 3) in Soft Suede ink on a Soft Suede Core’dinations panel (from the Neutrals Core’dinations Card Stock pack).  I sanded the edges and a few random places on the panel with my Stampin’ Sanding Block then adhered the stamped panel to an Early Espresso panel.

I used my Circles Collection Framelits die to cut the corner off the edge of the panel, then sanded the edges around the die cut.  Next, I stamped the image of the goose from the Wetlands stamp set (wood mount and clear mount) in VersaMark ink and heat embossed it with Early Espresso Stampin’ Emboss Powder.  Then I used the next size down Circles Collection Framelits die to cut around the image and I sanded the edges of the die cut.

I stamped the sea grass image from the Wetlands stamp set in Soft Suede ink on the Core’dinations panel.  The sentiment was stamped in VersaMark ink and heat embossed with Early Espresso Stampin’ Emboss Powder.

To finish the card, I adhered the main panel and the circle die cut to a Marina Mist card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I finished the inside of the card by layering an Early Espresso panel under a Whisper White panel that I’d stamped in Soft Suede ink with the sea grass images.

The complete list of supplies, including card stock cuts, to create the project is at the very bottom of this post.
