I got out my Blender Pens and some Watercolor Paper to make a card with the new Petite Petals and the Flower Shop stamp sets from Stampin’ Up!  I made this card for the Try Stampin’ on Tuesday Sketch #148.  This weeks twist is to add a wood or woodgrain element.  After you’ve peeked at my card, be sure to head over to the Try Stampin’ on Tuesday blog to check out what the other members of the Design Team made.  I hope that you’ll play along this week too!

I started by adhering a panel of Watercolor Wonder DSP (available Jan 3) to a panel of Soft Suede card stock.  Then I adhered a strip of Daffodil Delight card stock across the center and scrunched up some Soft Suede 3/8″ Taffeta Ribbon and wrapped it around the panel.  I found it easiest to run SNAIL down the length of the ribbon and then across the Daffodil Delight card stock strip.  That way when I gathered the ribbon up, the ribbon stuck to itself so the gathers stayed and the ribbon also stuck to the card stock strip.

Next, I embossed a panel of Soft Suede Core’dinations (from the Neutrals Core’dinations Card Stock pack) card stock with the Woodgrain Embossing Folder.  I sanded the raised areas with my Stampin’ Sanding Block and adhered the panel to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Then I cut a panel of Watercolor Wonder DSP and adhered it over the Core’dinations card stock.  I colored the images from the Flower Shop stamp set (wood mount and clear mount) and Petite Petals stamp set (available Jan 3) with my Stampin’ Write Markers and stamped them on a panel of Watercolor Paper.  I used my Blender Pen and ink pads to add just a touch of Daffodil Delight and Tangerine Tango ink to the flowers.

I punched the images out with the Pansy Punch and Petite Petals Punch (available Jan 3), adhered them together then to the card front with Glue Dots.  I stamped the sentiment from the A Dozen Thoughts stamp set (wood mount and clear mount) in Tangerine Tango ink on a Whisper White panel, cut it out with the Banner Framelits Die (available Jan 3) and adhered it under the flowers with SNAIL.  I finished the card front by adding 6 Soft Suede Candy Dots (from the Neutrals Candy Dots pack).

I finished the inside of the card by adhering a strip of Watercolor Wonder DSP to a strip of Daffodil Delight card stock.  I adhered the layered card stock strip to a panel of Whisper White.
