Flowerfull Heart File Folder Card – Stampin’ Up!

I created a file folder card using the Flowerfull Heart stamp and Envelope Punch Board from Stampin’ Up! to share with you today.  Patty Bennett did a fantastic video showing you how to create this type of card and you can see it here.  I made a few modifications to the measurements that I’ve noted below, but the process for creating the card is the same.  My card deign was inspired by Retrosketches #97.

One quick reminder, the Flowerfull Heart and all of the valentine promotion items that are currently available from Stampin’ Up! will only be available until Jan 27 so be sure to order them soon!  To see all of the valentine promotion items, click here.

Flowerfull Heart - Stamp With Amy K

I started by cutting a Pink Pirouette card base to 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ and I scored it at 4-1/4″.  Then I trimmed off 3/8″ from what would be the front of my card to create the uneven file folder look.  I adhered a strip of Fresh Prints DSP Stack paper so that it was flush with the edge that I’d just trimmed on the front of my card.

I placed the back part of my card base in the Envelope Punch Board and I punched it at 2-3/4″.  Then I trimmed the back panel from the left edge to the “v” as shown in Patty’s video.  I placed the front part of my card base in the Envelope Punch Board and punched it at 2-3/4″.  I trimmed the front panel of the card from the bottom to the “v” also.  I used the Envelop Punch Board to punch the edges on both panels rather than the corner rounder as shown in Patty’s video.

Then I stamped the Flowerfull Heart image in Real Red ink on a Whisper White panel, cut it out with the matching Hearts Collection Framelits die and layered it over a Real Red heart that I’d cut with the same Hearts Collection Framelit.  I stamped the sentiment from the Itty Bitty Banners stamp set (wood mount and clear mount) on Real Red card stock in VersaMark Ink, sprinkled it with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder, heat embossed it and cut it out with the matching Bitty Banners Framelits die.

I adhered the layered heart and the sentiment to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I punched a little heart from Red Glimmer Paper using the Owl Builder Punch and I adhered it with SNAIL to the corner of the sentiment.  Then I cut a heart from the Red Glimmer Paper with the smallest Hearts Collection Framelit die and adhered it over a Whisper White heart that I’d cut with the Hearts a Flutter Framelits die.  I tied a bow from Silver Baker’s Twine and adhered it to a Basic Metal Button with Multipurpose Liquid Glue and I adhered the button to the Glimmer Paper heart with a Glue Dot.

Teeny Tiny Wishes - Stamp With Amy K

I stamped the sentiment from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set (wood mount and clear mount) in Real Red ink on the file folder tab.  I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to help with placement of the sentiment.  Then I punched a Small Heart Punch from Red Glimmer Paper and I adhered it next to the sentiment.  I finished the card front by adding a Mini Metallic Clothespin to hold it closed.

I adhered a strip of Fresh Prints DPS Stack paper to a panel of Whisper White card stock then I punched the corner with the Envelope Punch Board and adhered it inside the card so that it wouldn’t show when the card was closed.

  1. This card is so unique and pretty… very clever, Amy! I really like using the punch board for envelopes so I like having a new idea for its use.
