Retro Fresh Perfect Pennants Masculine Birthday Card & A Blog Candy Weekend

I used the Perfect Pennants stamp set and Retro Fresh DSP & Washi Tape from Stampin’ Up! to create a masculine birthday card to share today.  The Mojo Monday #328 sketch was the inspiration for my card design.

Perfect Pennants 2 - Stamp With Amy K

I started by adhering a panel of Retro Fresh DSP to a Very Vanilla panel, then I adhered the layered panels to the Baked Brown Sugar card base with SNAIL.  I cut a second panel of Retro Fresh DSP, adhered it to a Baked Brown Sugar panel, then adhered the layered panel to the card front with SNAIL.

Then I colored the sentiment from the Perfect Pennants stamp set (wood mount and clear mount) with my Stampin’ Write Markers and I stamped it on a Very Vanilla panel.  I ran strips of Retro Fresh This and That Designer Washi Tape around the edges of the stamped panel, then layered it over a panel of Baked Brown Sugar card stock.

Perfect Pennants 3 - Stamp With Amy K

I adhered the sentiment panel to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals, then adhered some of the Retro Fresh Designer Washi Tape to the arrow from the Essentials Wooden Elements.  I snipped and wrapped the Washi Tape around the arrow, then adhered it with a Glue Dot.

I finished the card front by looping some Naturals Linen Thread through a Basic Metal Button.  I tied the thread in a knot on the back of the button, then adhered it to the card front with a Glue Dot.

I finished the inside of the card by adhering a strip of Retro Fresh Designer Washi Tape around a Very Vanilla panel, then adhering the panel to the card base with SNAIL.

  1. The Perfect Pennants bundle is by far my favorite!! I love the masculine card – it’s PERFECT! Thanks for the chance to win:-)

  2. I would love to win the blog candy you are offering. My favorite item/items in the new Occasions Catalog is the High Tide Suite. My husband is ex-navy and loves the nautical themes. I love reading your blog.

  3. I love the gold items – a touch of class to add to a special card. I think the tag punches are just so clever – let YOU decide how long they need to be for your special use. Pricey, but will have to have one of them, at least. Your card has shown me a new use for washi tape – I’ve just not bought into it so far, but I like the frame idea you shared. I’m so happy to see SU creating PUNCHES to match the STAMPS. I’m not a fussy cutter, and these are just wonderful.

  4. There are many new favorites–LOVE the spiral flower Bigz die–the watercolor cards look neat-o & I think I need (winks) the fringe scissors. Thanks for the chance at the goodies! My 3 girls & I would love to add that stamp set to our collection! We look forward to seeing your blog posts everyday!
You have such a talent w/ creativity!

  5. Love the framelits and stamp sets!! (Along with every other item in the catalog, lol)! Amy, thanks for the chance at this awesome blog candy! Have a *sparkling* weekend!

  6. There is so much to love in the Occasions catty! My favorites are the VIvid Vases, Happy Congrats, Happy Watercolor and the fresh prints paper stack. That said, I have nothing from the catty yet, but plan to soon! I really like your sketch card and how such differently patterned paper goes well together like that. Very nice!

  7. My favorite is the Scallop Tag Punch ~ so many fun things to make with that tool !! And, yes, my list could go on and on and . . . . . . I really enjoy your blog everyday, Amy. Thanks for the blog candy drawing !!

  8. Lets see……….I love it all, but my new favorites are the banner dies and the new dsp. Oh and the new scallop tag punch :0) LOVIN” all of it LOL

  9. Oh I LOVE the Watercolor Wonder Designer Series Paper It is so versatile It has Chevron prints, Polka dots, even flowers You really can use these for most anything

  10. Great masculine card – i never would have thought to use those colors! Love all the new things in this catalog, so hard to pick with a limited budget, this is one I don’t have, thanks for the chance to win and keep the inspiration coming.

  11. Love the card Amy! I have 3 men/boys in my life and I’m constantly on the lookout for masculine cards. I LOVE the retro fresh paper and wash tape!! (but pretty much everything is on my wish list)

  12. You make the greatest cards! I especially like how you decorate the inside of the card and always give us a peak at it! I’m thinking I should get the Peachy Keen Stamp Set & On Film Framelits Dies Bundle. I generally like flowers and butterflies…so maybe I can “break out of my box” and get creative with something new and fresh!

  13. I love the “Springtime Hello” stamp set – love that little bee! Thanks for sharing your inspiration and creativity.

  14. Hi Amy, thanks for another great idea, I am always looking for ideas for masculine cards. Thanks for the chance for blog candy.

  15. Love your card as always!! I was undecided on my favorite item until I saw your card using the Peaceful Petals, beautiful! Thanks for the chance to win.

  16. My 2 favorite new products are the Blessed Easter stamp and the Scalloped Tag Topper punch. Thanks for the opportunity to win some blog candy. I enjoy seeing your cards especially the interior portion.

  18. Great card Amy, love checking out your blog! I have so many favorites in the new catalog – love the gold. But, my favorite must be the petite petals bundle.

  19. Thanks for the chance at some great blog candy! Really enjoy checking your blog daily for some inspiration. One of my favorites happens to be the language of love set. Really like all the new framelits, especially the banners. The watercolor items & all the dsp are great choices this year. So love the gold, wish we would have had it for Christmas.

  20. Happy Watercolor looks like so much fun, so does the Just Sayin’.
Thanks for the opportunity to win something.
    Gail

  21. I love many of the new Occasions products but my absolute favorite has to be the Watercolor Wonder Designer Series Paper. I plan to use every last scrap of that paper.

  22. My favorites are Life in the Forest and Cool Kid stamping sets that are perfect for our little grandsons who love to camp and are such “cool kids”!

  23. Some of my favs from the occasions – white stampin chalk marker, designer washi tapes, Pomp and circumstance, chevron border punch, Hexagon hive and word bubble die, Most of the DSP. and spiral flower originals die. My list can go on but I think these would be on my wish list first. 🙂 Thanks.

  24. I probably have to go with the Petite Petals bundle, but close behind those are the So Very Grateful stamp set and the Hardwood background stamp, love them all. This is such a generous blog candy package, thanks for the chance to win. Love your blog!
