Bright Geometrical Hooray For Today Card – Stampin’ Up!

I used the Geometrical stamp set and the Kaleidoscope DSP from Stampin’ Up! to create a bright card to share with you today.  My card design was inspired by Freshly Made Sketches #119.

Geometrical 2 - Stamp With Amy K

I started by stamping the sentiment from the Geometrical stamp set (wood mount and clear mount) in VersaMark Ink on a panel of the Kaleidoscope DSP.  I sprinkled the image with Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder and I heat embossed it, then adhered the stamped panel to a panel of Whisper White card stock.  I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to help with placement.

Then I cut placed the layered panel under a corner the Strawberry Slush sheet of Kaleidoscope DSP and determined where I wanted to place it.  I used a little SNAIL under the corner of the Strawberry Slush DSP sheet to hold it in place, then I flipped the two pieces over and used a pencil to lightly trace the edge of the panel.  I carefully peeled the Strawberry Slush DSP off the other panel then used my Stampin’ Trimmer to cut the panel to the right size (using my pencil lines as the guide).  Once trimmed, I adhered the Strawberry Slush panel to the stamped panel with SNAIL.

I cut a strip of Kaleidoscope DSP, then punched the end with the Hexagon Punch to create the banner end.  I adhered the panel to the card front and added three Candy Dots to the right side of the banner.  One is Crushed Curry (from the Regals Candy Dots pack), one is Melon Mambo (I thought that it was close enough to the Strawberry Slush color that you couldn’t really tell) and one is Bermuda Bay (Melon Mambo and Bermuda Bay are from the Brights Candy Dots pack).

Geometrical 3 - Stamp With Amy K

I stamped the chevron image from the Geometrical stamp set in Bermuda Bay ink on a Bermuda Bay panel (used my Stamp-a-ma-jig for placement), punched a circle with the 1-3/4″ Circle Punch and I layered it over a Crushed Curry circle that I’d cut with one of the Circles Collection Framelits Dies.  I punched out Strawberry Slush and Crushed Curry chevrons with the Chevron Border Punch and adhered them to the circle.  I trimmed the excess from the ends of the Chevrons with my Paper Snips, then adhered the circle to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I finished by adhering the layered panel to a Crushed Curry card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I used some of my leftover scraps of Kaleidoscope DSP to decorate the inside of my card.
