I’ve had the Just Sayin’ stamp set from Stampin’ Up! for a little while and I’ve been waiting for the prefect sketch to use it with. When I saw the Stamping and Blogging SB48 Sketch this week, I decided that it was time to pull it out and ink it up!
Be sure to check out what the other Design Team Members made with this sketch too, links to their blogs are below.
I started by embossing a panel of Pool Party Core’dinations Card Stock (from the Subtles Core’dinations Card Stock pack) with the Alphabet Press Embossing Folder. I adhered the embossed panel to a panel of Bermuda Bay card stock with SNAIL.
I added a panel of Kaleidoscope DSP to the embossed panel using SNAIL to adhere it, then added a strip of Natural 5/8″ Chevron Ribbon, using SNAIL to adhere it as well. I adhered the layered panel to a Crushed Curry card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I stamped the “hey there!” and “you’re the best” sentiments and word bubbles from the Just Sayin’ stamp set (wood mount and clear mount) in Bermuda Bay and Crushed Curry inks on a Whisper White panel. I cut the two sentiments out with their matching Word Bubbles Framelits Dies and adhered them to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals (and SNAIL for the little Crushed Curry tail).
You can purchase the Just Sayin’ stamp set and Word Bubble Framelits Dies in a bundle and save 15% (wood mount and clear mount).
I colored the frame around the long, narrow sentiment with my Melon Mambo Stampin’ Write Marker and stamped it an a Whisper White panel. Then I inked up the sentiment from the A Dozen Thoughts stamp set (wood mount or clear mount) in Melon Mambo ink and used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to stamp the sentiment inside the bubble, then cut it out with the Word Bubble Framelits die. I adhered the sentiment with Stampin’ Dimensionals to the card front, then added a Crushed Curry (from the Regals Candy Dots pack), a Bermuda Bay and a Melon Mambo Candy Dot (from the Brights Candy Dots pack) to the card front to finish it.
I colored the sentiment from the Yippee-Skippee stamp set (wood mount and clear mount) with my Stampin’ Write Markers and stamped it on a Whisper White panel. Then I layered the Whisper White panel over a Bermuda Bay card stock panel and adhered the layered panel inside the card.

Oh Amy, this card is totally adorable and what a great take on the challenge this month, really super creative!
Thanks Sandi!!
This is what I love about your designs… you stepped outside of the challenge’s hexagons and used other shapes. Such a good learning lesson on using one’s imagination. Wasn’t interested in this stamp until I saw your card. TFS.
Thanks so much Melanie! That is one of the reasons that I do so many sketch challenges…it makes me think outside the box and be creative! 🙂
