I can’t believe it, but it’s getting to be that time of year!  Graduation is right around the corner so I’m getting my stack of cards started.  I used the Pure Gumption and Oh, Hello stamp sets from Stampin’ Up! to create two quick cards.  This card is easy to customize to whatever the school colors are…the orange and black one will be going to my nephew in a few weeks!

My card design was inspired by the My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge 172 and CAS-ual Fridays CFC130.

I adhered a panel of Sahara Sand DSP from the Neutrals DSP Stacks to a Whisper White panel with SNAIL then to a Midnight Muse card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I adhered a strip of Midnight Muse DSP from the 2012-14 In Color DSP Stacks to a strip of Midnight Muse card stock, punched the end with the Hexagon Punch, then adhered the layered strip to the card front with SNAIL.  I used the Arrows Embossing Folder to emboss a Sahara Sand card stock panel and I adhered it to a Midnight Muse card stock panel, then to the card front with SNAIL.

I inked up the oval image from the Oh, Hello stamp set (wood mount and clear mount) in Sahara Sand, stamped it off on scrap paper once, then stamped it on a Whisper White panel.  I stamped the sentiment and caps from the Pure Gumption stamp set (wood mount and clear mount) in Midnight Muse ink on the panel, using my Stamp-a-ma-jig for placement, then cut it out with an Ovals Collection Framelits Die.  I layered it over a Midnight Muse card stock oval, then adhered the layered oval to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I added three Whisper White Candy Dots from the Neutrals Candy Dots pack to complete the card front.

I stamped the graduation caps from the Pure Gumption stamp set in Midnight Muse ink across the bottom of a Whisper White panel to complete the inside of the card.

I used the same layering for this card but I used Pumpkin Pie DSP from the Brights DSP Stacks and Basic Black DSP from the Neutrals DSP Stacks.  Then I added a Pumpkin Pie embossed layer over a Basic Black layer.

I used Pumpkin Pie ink, stamped off once for the background oval image and StazOn Jet Black Ink for the sentiment and graduation caps on this card.  Then I added three Basic Black Candy Dots from the Neutrals Candy Dots pack to complete the card front.  I stamped the graduation caps across a Whisper White panel in StazOn Jet Black Ink to complete the inside of this card as well.
