Summer Silhouettes For You – Stampin’ Up!

I used the Summer Silhouettes and Chalk Talk stamp sets from Stampin’ Up! to create my card for the Stamping and Blogging SB54 Sketch Challenge.  Be sure to check out what the other Design Team Members have created with this sketch too, their blogs are linked below.

The light to dark stamping was inspired by this beautiful card made by Iwona Palamountain that I saw on Pinterest.  I will have to say, this card was a little “fussy” to stamp, but I really like the way that it turned out!

Summer Silhouettes - Stamp With Amy K

Screen Shot 2014-04-29 at 3.50.37 PMI started by inking up the two stamps from the Summer Silhouettes stamp set (wood mount and clear mount) with Pistachio Pudding and Pink Pirouette inks and I stamped them on a panel of Whisper White card stock.

Summer Silhouettes 1 - Stamp With Amy K

Then I used one of the Labels Collection Framelits Dies to cut a panel of Whisper White card stock.  I used just a tiny bit of SNAIL to tack the panel over my first stamped panel.  I pulled out my Stamp-a-ma-jig and a few sticky notes and went to work stamping the next layer in Blushing Bride and Wild Wasabi inks.  I lined up the images with the Stamp-a-ma-jig, pulled the plastic panel from from the Stamp-a-ma-jig out, slid a sticky note under the die cut panel (so that I was stamping the image on sticky note and not the lower panel) and I stamped the images on the die cut panel.  Once I was done stamping the images, I firmly adhered the two panels together with SNAIL.

Summer Silhouettes 2 - Stamp With Amy K

For the final layer, I cut an oval from Whisper White card stock with one of the Ovals Collection Framelits Dies and I used Melon Mambo and Garden Green inks for the images.  I used the same process as described above with the Stamp-a-ma-jig and sticky notes to stamp the images.  Once I had the images stamped, I removed the oval and adhered a strip of Melon Mambo DSP from the Brights DSP Stacks to a strip of Whisper White card stock, then to the larger stamped panel with SNAIL.  Then I adhered the stamped oval over the top of the panel with SNAIL.

Chalk Talk - Stamp With Amy K

I stamped the sentiment from the Chalk Talk stamp set (wood mount and clear mount) in Melon Mambo ink on a Whisper White panel, punched it out with the 1-3/8″ Circle Punch and adhered it with Stampin’ Dimensionals to a circle of Melon Mambo card stock that I’d cut with one of the Circles Collection Framelits Dies.  I adhered the layered sentiment to the card front with SNAIL, then adhered the entire stamped panel to a Whisper White card base with SNAIL.

Summer Silhouettes 3 - Stamp With Amy K

I stamped the flower and leaf images again on a Whisper White panel inside the card to complete it.
