I was so happy to see that the Stylish Stripes Embossing Folder made its way into the 2014-15 Stampin’ Up! Catalog.  I love it!!  I pulled it back out and used it to create a birthday card to share with you today.

My card design was inspired by the Hand Stamped Sentiments #184.  I didn’t realize it until after I made my card and went back to link it up that one of the design team members (Krista) had posted a card with a very similar design to mine…apparently her layout and punch use must have stuck in my head more than I knew.  🙂  Thanks for the inspiration!!

I started by embossing a panel of Strawberry Slush card stock with the Stylish Stripes Embossing Folder (available June 2).  I adhered the embossed panel to a panel of Whisper White card stock with SNAIL, then to a Strawberry Slush card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I adhered a panel of Strawberry Slush DSP from the 2013-15 In Color DSP Stacks to a Whisper White panel, then to the card front with SNAIL.  I used the Hexagon Punch to punch Coastal Cabana, Strawberry Slush and Crisp Cantaloupe card stock hexagons and I adhered them to the card front with SNAIL.  I cut three Whisper White card stock hexagons using a set of hexagon dies made by Stamps of Life and I adhered them to the card front with SNAIL.

I stamped the butterfly image from the Papillon Potpourri stamp set (wood mount and clear mount) in VersaMark Ink on Coastal Cabana, Crisp Cantaloupe and Strawberry Slush card stock.  I sprinkled the images with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed them, punched them out with the matching Bitty Butterfly Punch and adhered them to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped the sentiment from the Four You stamp set (wood mount and clear mount) on a strip of Whisper White card stock.  I adhered the sentiment to a strip of Strawberry Slush card stock with SNAIL, punched the ends with the Hexagon Punch, then adhered the strip to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I added some random Rhinestone Basic Jewels for a little sparkle.

I stamped the little butterfly images from the Papillon Potpourri stamp set in Crisp Cantaloupe, Strawberry Slush and Coastal Cabana inks on a Whisper White panel to complete the inside of the card.
