Petite Petals Mother’s Day Card & New Weekly Deals from Stampin’ Up!

Wow, Mother’s Day snuck up on me…I can’t believe that it’s this weekend, then school will be out two weeks later!  I put together a quick Mother’s Day card with the Petite Petals stamp set and a little of the Watercolor Wonder DSP from Stampin’ Up!

My card design was inspired by The Paper Players#194 and the Try Stampin’ on Tuesday #166 Sketch.  The twist for the Try Stampin’ on Tuesday sketch this week is Mother’s Day.  Hope that you’ll be able to play along with us too!

I started by adhering a panel of Watercolor Wonder DSP to a Daffodil Delight card stock panel with SNAIL, then to a Crisp Cantaloupe card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Tag Topper Punch - Stamp With Amy K

Then I went to work on the tag.  I started with a 2″ wide panel of Watercolor Wonder DSP and I punched it with the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch.  I punched a second tag from Daffodil Delight card stock.

Tag Topper Punch 1 - Stamp With Amy K

I cut the Daffodil Delight tag lengthwise down the middle, slid it about 1/4″ apart and adhered the two pieces to the back of the Watercolor Wonder DSP tag with SNAIL.  Very quick and simple but it gives a nice little layer to it!

Teeny Tiny Wishes - Stamp With Amy K

Then I stamped the sentiment from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set (wood mount and clear mount) in Crisp Cantaloupe ink on the DSP tag, using my Stamp-a-ma-jig to help with placement.  I pulled a piece of Daffodil Delight 1/2″ Seam Binding Ribbon through the tag punch and tied it with a little bit of Whisper White Baker’s Twine.

Petite Petals 2 - Stamp With Amy K

I adhered the tag to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals, then stamped the image from the Petite Petals stamp set (wood mount and clear mount) in Crisp Cantaloupe ink on Whisper White and Crisp Cantaloupe card stock.  I colored the centers with my Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Write Marker (using the fine point to decrease the ink bleeding) and punched them out with the matching Petite Petals Punch.

You can purchase the Petite Petals stamp set and punch in a bundle and save 15% (wood mount and clear mount).

I adhered the flower images to the card front using SNAIL for some and Stampin’ Dimensionals for others.  I added some Rhinestone Basic Jewels randomly to finish the card front.

I finished the inside of the card by adhering a strip of Watercolor Wonder DSP to a strip of Crisp Cantaloupe card stock, then to a Whisper White panel.

Now that you’ve seen my card, be sure to head over to the Try Stampin’ on Tuesday blog to see the other Design Team Member’s creations.

  1. Such a pretty and happy card today. It also gives Mom a bouquet of “flowers” too 🙂 Thanks for the tip on how to layer the tag punch, it looks so nice with the other layers on your card. Mothers Day snuck up on me too!

  2. Wonderfully clever way to get another use from that tag punch….and perfect for the sketch! Those papers and florals are beautiful! Thanks for playing with us this week at the Paper Players and sharing your creation!

  3. So pretty, Amy. I love how the popped flowers blend so beautifully with the background DSP. (One of my favorite DSP packs, I might add!) I also love how you nestled them on top of the banner sentiment layer. Gorgeous. So glad you joined the Paper Players this week
