We’re doing another little blog share with Project Life by Stampin’ Up! items today. Sandi MacIver, Heather Van Looy and I have all created something with items from the Project Life by Stampin’ Up! line and we’re all linking together so you can check out what each of us made!
My card was inspired by CAS(E) this Sketch #79.
Since I wanted to create the Ombre effect, I chose light, medium and dark shades of purple for my ink colors. And since I love Blackberry Bliss, I chose that for my card base!
I started by stamping the star images from the Project Life Point & Click stamp set in Blackberry Bliss, Perfect Plum and Wisteria Wonder inks on a Whisper White panel. Since this stamp set is photopolymer, it is super easy to line up and stamp the images.
Then I stamped the sentiment from the Yippee-Skippee stamp set in VersaMark Ink over the star images, sprinkled it with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed it.
I adhered the stamped panel to a panel of Gold Foil Sheets with SNAIL, then to a Blackberry Bliss card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I punched three stars with the punch from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack from Gold Foil Sheets and adhered them to the card front with just a touch of Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
I stamped the star images from the Project Life Point & Click stamp set in Blackberry Bliss ink on a Whisper White panel inside the card. I added one little gold star punch to finish it.
Now that you’ve seen my project, be sure to stop by the Sandi’s and Heather’s blogs to see what they’ve created with the Project Life by Stampin’ Up!:

I would not have thought to emboss on top of another stamped image. It’s a simple technique, but not one I’ve ever tried. Thanks for sharing!
You are welcome Heather, it’s super easy and fun to do! Just be sure that your ink under your embossed area has dried really well or you’ll get lots of little “extra” flecks of embossing powder stuck everywhere. 🙂
WOW, love all the cool layers of color and the pop of gold, turned out super awesome, I just love these card kits, there are just so many possibilities with them. I can’t wait to see what you create next!…
Thanks Sandi! Love quick and simple, especially during the summer when the kids are home. Need to stamp what I an when I can. 🙂
Love your creative interpretation of the suggested layout and the beautiful combination of inks and embossing
Thanks Diane! So glad that you like it. 🙂
Great card, Amy! It feels so unique. I just might have to try this myself. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Terri, definitely give it a try. It’s so easy and I really like the effect!
Please keep adding PL ideas – all three of you!!
Thanks so much, we’re planning to make this a weekly event for awhile. 🙂
Great technique with the embossing over the stars, nice ombre colors too! I love the way you show us different ways to use Project Life. So great it’s a versatile set!
Thank you! We’ve been having lots of fun sharing. 🙂
So festive and another fabulous interpretation – love this card!
Thanks Melanie!! I appreciate your comments. 🙂
