I used my Stampin’ Blendabilities Markers to color the little bird image from Stampin’ Up! stamp set called An Open Heart. I’m sure that I made he looks nothing like he should as far as the colors go, but I was happy with the way that he turned out! 🙂
My card design was inspired by the Mojo Monday #354 sketch.
I started by adhering a panel of Old Olive DSP from the Brights DSP Stacks to a panel of Calypso Coral card stock with SNAIL. Then I embossed a panel of Crumb Cake card stock with the Lovely Lace Embossing Folder and I adhered it to a panel of Calypso Coral card stock, then to the DSP panel with SNAIL. I embossed another panel of Crumb Cake card stock with the Woodgrain Embossing Folder and I adhered it to a panel of Calypso Coral card stock, then to the DSP panel with SNAIL.
I stamped the bird images from An Open Heart stamp set in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on a Whisper White panel. I colored the body of the bird with the Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blendabilities Markers. I colored the entire area with the Light Crumb Cake Marker, then went back and added a few touches with the Dark and Medium Crumb Cake Markers. I didn’t blend them, I just let the darker ink settle into the lighter ink and I was pleased with that result.
I colored the lighter areas and beak of the bird with the Nude and Natural markers from the Stampin’ Blendabilities Skin Tone pack. The Nude Marker added the lighter touches and the Natural added a little darker shade. Then I colored the images of the branches with my Old Olive and Calypso Coral Stampin’ Blendabailities markers. I used the same method described above where I colored the images with the light marker, then went back and added touches of the dark and medium shades without reblending them. I cut the bird image out with a Circles Collection Framelits Die and I adhered it to the card front with SNAIL.
I wrapped a strand of Old Olive 1/8″ Taffeta Ribbon around the panel, adhering it with SNAIL, then I tied a bow with the ribbon and I adhered it with a Glue Dot. I stamped the sentiment from the Something to Say stamp set in Old Olive Ink on a Whisper White panel, punched it out with the side of the Modern Label Punch, adhered it to a Modern Label Punch from Old Olive card stock, trimmed the punches just above the sentiment, tucked the sentiment under the ribbon and adhered it with SNAIL to the card front. I finished the card front by adhering the panel to a Crumb Cake card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I stamped the little bird image from the An Open Heart stamp set in Crumb Cake ink on a Whisper White panel inside the card to complete it.
