Festival of Trees Merry Christmas – Stampin’ Up!

I spent some time playing with a few more new stamp sets from the 2014 Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog.  I used the Festival of Trees and Merry Everything stamp sets to create my card to share today.

Festival of Trees - Stamp With Amy K

My card design was inspired by the My Favorite Things MFTWSC190 sketch.

I started by adhering a panel of Nordic Noel DSP (available Aug 28) to a Real Red card base with SNAIL.  Then I used one of the Ovals Collection Framelits Dies to cut a rounded edge on a panel of Garden Green card stock.

Festival of Trees 2 - Stamp With Amy K

I accomplished the rounded edge by sliding the card stock panel through the Framelit die, placing the Framelit where I wanted to rounded edge to be, then adding a little blue painters tape to hold it in place while I ran it through the Big Shot.  I only ran the panel through the machine far enough to make the cut, then I reversed it back out so that I wouldn’t end up with a crease line where the other half of the oval was under the card stock panel.

I embossed the Garden Green panel with the On Point Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and adhered it with SNAIL to the card front.

Merry Everything - Stamp With Amy K

I colored the sentiment from the Merry Everything stamp set (available Aug 28) with my Real Red and Garden Green Stampin’ Write Markers and I stamped it on a Whisper White panel.  I adhered the stamped panel to a panel of Real Red card stock with SNAIL, the used the same technique shown above with the Ovals Collection Framelits Die to cut the sentiment panel with the rounded edge.  I adhered the sentiment panel to the card with SNAIL.

Then I stamped the tree image from the Festival of Trees photopolymer stamp set (available Aug 28) in Garden Green ink on a Whisper White panel.  I stamped the dot image from the Festival of Trees stamp set in Real Red ink over the Garden Green image, then used my Gold Stampin’ Dazzle Marker to trace over the lines across the tree.  I used my Medium Calypso Coral Stampin’ Blendabilities Marker and filled in the remaining dots on the tree.  I punched the tree out with the Tree Punch (available Aug 28), snipped the trunk off, then punched the bottom again from Baked Brown Sugar card stock.  I adhered the Baked Brown Sugar trunk with SNAIL, then adhered the tree to the card front with SNAIL.

Merry Everything - Stamp With Amy K

I punched a star with the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack punch from Brushed Gold card stock and adhered it with a dot of Multipurpose Liquid Glue to the tree image.  Then I tied a piece of Linen Thread through a Nordic Designer Button (available Aug 28) and adhered it with a Glue Dot to the card front.

Festival of Trees 4 - Stamp With Amy K

I stamped the Festival of Trees images again in Garden Green and Real Red inks on a Whisper White panel inside the card.

  1. Thanks for the tip on cutting the curve with an oval die. Saves on purchasing another die that only accomplishes one thing! Love the card.

  2. Love the way you were able to replicate the curve for the challenge – and most of all – give us the pointers 🙂 I like the way you punched the tree trunk in Baked Brown Sugar and added it. Plus, fantastic idea to add pizzazz to your tree with the Calypso Coral dots and especially the Gold Dazzle garland 😉 Keep the Christmas ideas coming!
