Festival of Trees Shaker Card – Stampin’ Up!

I used the Festival of Trees stamp set and matching Tree Punch that are available as a Bundle in the Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog to create my card today.

Festival of Trees - Stamp With Amy K

My card design was inspired by The Paper Players #210.

I started by punching a Tree Punch from a panel of Under the Tree Specialty DSP.  I set aside the actual tree shape and I used my 2-1/2″ Circle Punch to punch around the “negative” Tree Punch to create the window.

Festival of Trees 4 - Stamp With Amy K

I punched a 2″ Circle Punch from a Window Sheet and I adhered it with Fast Fuse to the back of the Tree Punch.  Then I adhered the leftover edges from one of my sheets of Stampin’ Dimensionals on the Window Sheet to create the raised edge around the tree.  I added a few of the Frosted Sequins to the window frame, then adhered it to a circle that I’d cut from Under the Tree Speciality DSP with a Circles Collection Framelits Die.

Festival of Trees 2 - Stamp With Amy K

I adhered the layered shaker piece to another panel of Under the Tree Specialty DSP with SNAIL.  I adhered the layered panel to a panel of Baked Brown Sugar card stock with SNAIL, then to a Cherry Cobbler card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Festival of Trees 3 - Stamp With Amy K

I stamped the sentiment from the Festival of Trees photopolymer stamp set in Cherry Cobbler ink on a strip of Baked Brown Sugar card stock.  I punched the end with the Banner Punch and adhered the sentiment to the card front with SNAIL under the center and a Stampin’ Dimensional under the right side.

Festival of Trees 1 - Stamp With Amy K

I tied a strand of Cherry Cobbler Baker’s Twine through a Regals Designer Button, then adhered the button to the sentiment banner with a Glue Dot.

Festival of Trees 5 - Stamp With Amy K

I stamped the sentiment from the Festival of Trees stamp set in Cherry Cobbler ink on a panel of Baked Brown Sugar card stock, then adhered the Tree Punch with SNAIL to complete the inside of the card.

  4. Love it, love it Amy! I haven’t done a shaker card yet and I think your card might be a great card to try my hand at it. I love the DSP that you choose to use, it’s wonderful with the tree punch, kinda like a pun, just with images 😉 And what a great finish, the punched tree looks perfect in the inside! I really love your card with it’s subtleties and yet the pop of details that draw your eyes in 😉

  5. Oh, this is adorable, Amy! I love shaker cards, and I love the tree shaped opening. Thanks so much for sharing your creation with The Paper Players!
