I’ve got a clean and simple sympathy card made with the Lovely As A Tree and Love & Sympathy stamp sets from Stampin’ Up! to share today. Unfortunately, one of my good friends from school lost her brother this past week so this one will be headed to her family shortly.
My card design was inspired by CAS(E) this Sketch #91.
I started by inking up the image from the Lovely As A Tree stamp set with Early Espresso ink, stamping it on scrap paper once, then stamping it on a panel of Crumb Cake card stock. I used my Dark Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Blendabilities Markers to add a few dots of color to each of the trees.
Then I used my Light Old Olive Stampin’ Blendabilities Marker to add a little color to the grass. I cut a strip from the Under the Tree Specialty DSP pack, punched the end with the Hexagon Punch and colored the stripes with my Light Old Olive Stampin’ Blendabilities Marker. I adhered the banner to the Crumb Cake panel with SNAIL.
I stamped the sentiment from the Love & Sympathy stamp set in Early Espresso ink on the panel. I adhered the stamped panel to a panel of Early Espresso card stock with SNAIL, then to an Old Olive card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I cut the leaves with the Fun Fall Framelits Dies from Crushed Curry, Old Olive and Pumpkin Pie card stock, sponged the edges with Early Espresso ink and adhered them together with SNAIL. I adhered one of the Autumn Wooden Elements to the back of the leaves with Glue Dots, then wrapped Linen Thread around the group and tied a bow. I adhered the leaves to the card front with Glue Dots.
For the inside of the card, I stamped the sentiment from the Love & Sympathy stamp set in Early Espresso ink on a Crumb Cake panel, then stamped the leaf image from the Lovely as a Tree stamp set in Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive inks down the side.

I really like this card, especially how you colored the tree leaves.

Wonderful take on the sketch–a great masculine sympathy card. (Sorry for the loss!)
Thanks so much Donna!
I’m so sorry for her loss. Your card will definitely bring her some comfort. It is a beautiful card, all of your elements are just perfect Amy. I’ll be adding this one to my card stash for times like these. Thank you for your caring card idea.
Thanks so much for your nice comments Jill. Sympathy cards are always difficult.
