I’m posting a bit early this morning as I’ll be out at school doing some volunteering for most of the day today. I will try to check my messages a few times throughout the day, but I may not be able to respond as quickly as I usually do. 🙂
I used the Ornamental Pine stamp set from Stampin’ Up! to create my card to share today.
My card design was inspired by My Favorite Things MFTWSC193.
I started by adhering a panel of DSP from the Trim the Tree DSP Stack to a Whisper White panel with SNAIL, then to a Garden Green card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I colored the branch image from the Ornamental Pine stamp set with my Garden Green and Early Espresso Stampin’ Write Markers and I stamped it on a panel of Whisper White card stock.
I created a little mask for the ornament hook by cutting a thin strip from a sticky note. I wanted it looked like part of the hook went behind the branch when I placed the mask over the branch, then used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to stamp the hook image from the Ornamental Pine stamp set in VersaMark Ink over the branch. I sprinkled the hook image with Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed it.
I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig again to line up and stamp the ornament image in VersaMark ink under the hook. I sprinkled the image with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed it, then colored the white space with my Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Write Marker. ***Quick tip: When coloring over an embossed image, blot the excess ink from the embossed part of the image with a towel to avoid smearing it.
I cut the image out with one of the Circles Collection Framelits Dies, then layered it over a circle that I’d cut from Garden Green card stock. I adhered the layered circles to the card front with SNAIL.
I stamped the sentiment from the Ornamental Pine stamp set in Garden Green ink on a Whisper White strip and I adhered it to a strip of Garden Green card stock with SNAIL. I slid the ends of the sentiment strip through the Banner Punch and punched them, then adhered the sentiment to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I slid a strip of Trim the Tree DSP through the opposite end of the Banner Punch and punched it t create the little arrow of paper. I adhered the punched DSP strip to the card front with SNAIL, then tied Cherry Cobbler Baker’s Twine through a Gold Basic Metal Button and adhered it to the card front with a Glue Dot.
I stamped sentiment from the Ornamental Pine stamp set in Garden Green ink on a Whisper White panel, then adhered a strip of Trim the Tree DSP to complete the inside of the card.

Stampin’ Up! items used to create this project:
Amy this has some really nice details such as masking your hook and the coloring in the white space seen through the ornament. This looks elegant!
Thank you Terri! I’m so glad that you liked it. 🙂
Terri and I are on the same page 🙂 Love the hook masking technique, what a great detail that just adds a great touch! I really appreciate the tip about clearing the ink off the embossed image…yep, I do goofy stuff like smear a card (okay or maybe two) not being careful after coloring my image after embossing. Painful lesson and now I have been reminded BEFORE I start my Christmas cards, lol! Thanks Amy 😉
Thanks Jill! So glad that you liked the card and the extra little tips. 🙂
