CAS Banner Birthday Card – Stampin’ Up!

I used the Sassy Salutations and Banner Banter stamp sets from Stampin’ Up! to create a quick banner birthday card to share with you today.  I have tons of fall birthdays in my family so I’m always looking for quick birthday cards and the non-halloween pieces of the Motley Monsters DSP worked perfectly to create this one!

Sassy Salutations - Stamp With Amy K

My card design was inspired by CAS(E) this Sketch #92.

I started by stamping the sentiment from the Sassy Salutations stamp set in VersaMark Ink on a panel of Motley Monsters DSP.  I sprinkled the sentiment with Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder, then heat embossed it.  I adhered the stamped panel to a panel of Crushed Curry card stock with SNAIL.

Sassy Salutations 1 - Stamp With Amy K

I used my Paper-Piercing Tool and my Stampin’ Pierce Mat and I poked holes in the upper corners of the layered panel.  I placed a Candy Dots Brad Base through the holes, then wrapped a strand of Bermuda Bay Baker’s Twine around the prongs before opening the prongs in the back to hold the brads in place.  I added a Crushed Curry Candy Dot from the Regals Candy Dots pack to the center of each brad base, then adhered the stamped panel to a Bermuda Bay card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Banner Banter 1 - Stamp With Amy K

I adhered a panel from the Motley Monsters DSP to a panel of Crushed Curry card stock with SNAIL, then used my Paper Snips to cut the large banner.  I adhered the banner to the card front with SNAIL.

Banne Banter - Stamp With Amy K

I stamped the chevron image from the Banner Banter stamp set in Bermuda Bay ink on a Sahara Sand panel an I punched it out with the matching Banner Punch.  I punched the three other banners from the Motley Monsters DSP pack with the Banner Punch.  For the two longer banners, I cut strips of the DSP about 5/8″ wide, then fed it through hole in the punch so that it only punched the tail end.

I adhered the banners over the strand of Bermuda Bay Baker’s Twine by cutting a Stampin’ Dimensional in half and placing one half on each side of the twine.  Then I adhered the banner with the Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Motley Mosters DSP - Stamp With Amy K

I adhered a strip of Motley Monsters DSP to a Whisper White panel inside the card.

  1. I think banners are really fun I am seeing them every where. I really like how this card came together. Nice fun color combo.

  2. My favorite thing about your card today is how you took the Motley Monsters DSP and came up with a totally different path. I’m going to definitely take a much closer look at the DSP and look even more at the alternative uses. *Thank you Amy for the DSP share, so I can see in person 🙂

I do love this card and the banner layout for a birthday card! Can’t wait to add this to my case/gotta make board 😉
