Santa Stache with Sassy Salutations – Stampin’ Up!

I’ve been resisting buying the Mustache Framelit forever because I just don’t “get” the mustache thing…but the Santa Stache stamp set from Stampin’ Up! pushed me right over the edge.  I love the Santa and Nutcracker images!!

Santa Stache - Stamp With Amy K

My card design was inspired by Pals Paper Arts #220.

I started by stamping the sentiment from the Sassy Salutations stamp set in VersaMark Ink on a panel from the Trim the Tree DSP Stack.  I sprinkled the sentiment with Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed it.

Santa Stache 1 - Stamp With Amy K

I adhered the embossed panel to a panel of Whisper White card stock with SNAIL, then adhered the layered panel to a Cherry Cobbler card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I stamped the image from the Santa Stache stamp set three times in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on a Whisper White panel.

Santa Stache 3 - Stamp With Amy K

I colored one of the Santa images with my Cherry Cobbler, Ivory and Blush Stampin’ Blendabilities Markers (Ivory and Blush are from the Skin Tone Assortment pack).  Then I used my Paper Snips and I cut around the top part of his head.

I had a little happy moment with the second Santa image (I really don’t like to fussy cut!!) when I realized that Santa’s beard was a really close match to the 1-3/4″ Scallop Circle Punch.  So I punched Santa’s beard with the 1-3/4″ Scallop Circle Punch and adhered it with SNAIL to the face that I’d trimmed with my Paper Snips.

Santa Stache 2 - Stamp With Amy K

I adhered the Santa face to the card with SNAIL, then cut Santa’s mustache out from the third Stanta image with the Mustache Framelits die.  I adhered the mustache with Stampin’ Dimensionals to the card front, then added a little Dazzling Details to the lines in the mustache, beard and hat.

Santa Stache 4 - Stamp With Amy K

I stamped the sentiment from the Santa Stache stamp set in Cherry Cobbler ink on a Whisper White panel, then adhered a strip of Trim the Tree DSP to complete the inside of the card.

  1. Great card, Amy! I love seeing sentiments over non-competing DSP… gives a different element. I am not sure that I “get” the whole stache thing either, but your card is certainly cute!! Thanks for including the PPA in your stamping fun!!

  2. I really like the way the “Merry Christmas” pops from being embossed with the cherry cobbler EP on the snowflake dsp. And your nutcracker looks fantastic with your awesome blendabilities coloring 😉 Good tips for getting him out too!

I’m so glad I’m not the only one not understanding the ‘stashe craze, lol 🙂

  3. Hi Amy…You did it again – another fun card with such clean lines….woot-woot! Your coloring on the Santa Hat is spectacular! Thanks for playing this week with the PPA Challenge!

  4. Really cute card! I have the mustache framelit and was wondering if I could cut out just the mustache part on the stamp set. Thanks for answering my question! I may just order the Santa Stache set after all.
