Stampin’ Up! Wondrous Wreath in Gold

I used the Wondrous Wreath and Holiday Home stamp sets from Stampin’ Up! to create my card to share today.

Wondrous Wreath - Stamp With Amy K

My card design was inspired by Retrosketches #137.

The colors for my card were inspired by The Paper Players #218.

Screen Shot 2014-10-23 at 3.13.22 PMI started by embossing a panel of Whisper White card card stock with the On Point Embossing Folder.  I adhered the embossed panel to a panel of Brushed Gold card stock, then to a Whisper White card base with SNAIL.

I stamped the sentiment from the Holiday Home Photopolymer stamp set in VersaMark Ink on a Whisper White panel, sprinkled it with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed it.  I trimmed the edges of a panel of Brushed Gold card stock with the Tiny Wave Stampin’ Trimmer Rotary Cutting Blade, then I adhered the stamped panel to it.  I punched the corners with the corner rounder on the Envelope Punch Board and set the panel aside while I worked on the wreath.

Wondrous Wreath 3 - Stamp With Amy K

I stamped the full wreath image from the Wondrous Wreath photopolymer stamp set in VersaMark Ink on a panel of Brushed Gold Card Stock, sprinkled it with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed it.  I let the image cool down, then stamped the partial wreath image in VersaMark Ink over the first image, sprinkled it with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed it.  I followed the same process for the berries, only I used Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Emboss Powder.

I cut the wreath image out with the Wonderful Wreath Framelits Dies and I placed it where I wanted it on the White panel.  I used a pencil to trace around the inside of the wreath and I used the center wreath die to cut the center out of the panel.

I adhered a panel of Cherry Cobbler card stock to the back of the Brushed Gold/Whisper White panel, then adhered the layered panel to the card front with SNAIL.  I adhered the wreath image to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals, then cut the Joy sentiment with the Wonderful Wreath Framelits Die (don’t forget to add a piece of wax paper between your die and card stock) from Gold Foil Sheets and adhered that to the wreath with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

Wondrous Wreath 4 - Stamp With Amy K

I stamped the sentiment and flower images from the Wondrous Wreath stamp set in VersaMark Ink on a Whisper White panel, sprinkled them with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed them, then adhered the panel to the inside of the card.

  1. Exquisite, elegant, stunning… can you tell I liked it? LOL I had not seen the wreath gold embossed before. It is a truly beautiful card, Amy.

  2. Wow! This is stunning Amy. This May May be my favorite! This is so gorgeous and says Christmas all over it. I will have to try this. You are so creative.

  3. Have to echo the sentiment – WOW. Just turned out beautifully. Like the tiny detail of having your gold panel not go all the way around the white one. Just a little something different. And the layered embossing…very nice!

  4. This is great. So far I haven’t been a big fan on the wonderous wreathe–but now you’ve changed my mind. Love it inthe gold and with the embossing. Great card

  5. I think all the adjectives have been used to describe this card. Your ability to create such beautiful things is an inspiration. This card is very special! Thanks for sharing.

  6. Oh my goodness!!! This is a stunning card (as Melanie stated, all the adjectives are used, lol) 🙂 I absolutely LOVE how you embossed the gold and then the white, it was unusual but so, so very effective and the cherry cobbler is the perfect topper. Your idea to just have a peek of the tiny waved trimmed brushed gold from either side of the main panel added great interest too. Amy, I could go on and on about your beautiful card, but let’s just say – it is AWESOME!!
