I used the Kinda Eclectic and Work of Art stamp sets from Stampin’ Up! to create my card to share today.
My card design was inspired by Fab Friday 53. After I went back to peek at the Fab Friday site, I realized that I’d actually borrowed a little inspiration from Janine Tinklinberg’s card. You can see her awesome card here.
I started by inking up the polka dot image from the Kinda Eclectic stamp set in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, stamping it off on scrap paper once then stamping it on a panel of Typeset Specialty DSP. I repeated the process a second time on the same DSP panel.
I stamped the sun image from the Kinda Eclectic stamp set on the DSP panel in So Saffron ink, adhered the stamped panel to a panel of Basic Black card stock, then adhered the layered panel to a Tangelo Twist card base with SNAIL. I inked up the large paintbrush image from the Work of Art stamp set in So Saffron ink and I stamped it down a panel of Very Vanilla card stock, without reinking it.
I adhered the Work of Art stamped panel to a panel of Basic Black card stock, then to the card front with SNAIL. I stamped the leaf images from the Kinda Eclectic stamp set in Mossy Meadow ink twice on a Very Vanilla panel, then stamped them again without reinking. I added the sentiment from the Kinda Eclectic stamp set to the panel, using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink to stamp it.
I layered the stamped panel over panels of So Saffron and Basic Black card stocks, adhering them with SNAIL. Then I stamped the butterfly images from the Kinda Eclectic stamp sets in Tangelo Twist and So Saffron inks on a Very Vanilla panel, punched them out with the Bitty Butterfly and Elegant Butterfly Punches, adhered them together with SNAIL, then adhered them to the card front with a Stampin’ Dimensional. I added two Pearl Basic Jewels to the center of the butterflies to finish the card front.
I stamped the leaf image from the Kinda Eclectic stamp set in Mossy Meadow ink and added a Tangelo Twist Bitty Butterfly Punch on a Very Vanilla card stock panel inside the card.

Another beautiful card, Amy! Nice to see what can be done with that stamp set – one I’d bypassed in my perusal of the catalog. Thanks!
Thanks Mary! I’d initially passed on that stamp set too but it quickly became a “must” have item once I saw the fantastic cards that others were creating with it. 🙂
This is definitely a work of art!
Thanks Linda!! 🙂
Great card! I like how you stamped the images right onto your DSP; it gives some great depth to the design! Thanks for sharing at Fab Friday!
Thanks Amanda! 🙂
Oh boy, I love the way you used the Kinda Eclectic set here with your really different choice of DSP, and the layering of different elements. I LOVE the Kinda Eclectic set and am collecting all types of ideas, your idea is so new and fresh for me. I feel like you just put a little of this and a pinch of that and out popped this wonderful card 🙂 Plus your color choices are bright and unexpected – that just are perfect together. I hope you can understand my muddy compliment to your fab layering, color choosing, and fun way of putting together a rocking card!! 😉 Love this idea Amy!!
Thanks Jill! This card is definitely different from my usual style. You are right, I did sort-of keep adding and subtracting to create the final result…glad that you liked it!! 😉
