Stampin’ Up! Festival of Trees Card for Happy Stampers Blog Hop

Screen Shot 2014-11-18 at 4.43.34 PM

The Happy Stampers group is doing another blog hop!  We’re all creating items for the holidays.  Once you’ve checked out my projects, be sure to hop around the circle to see what the other group members have created.  Be sure to leave a quick comment on each blog, we’re all offering some blog candy too!

I used the Festival of Trees stamp set and the Curvy Keepsake Box Dies and Snowflake Card Thinlits Dies to create my projects to share today.

Festival of Trees - Stamp With Amy K

My card design was inspired by Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 245.

Screen Shot 2014-11-19 at 2.00.33 PMI started by adhering a panel from the Trim The Tree DSP Stack to a panel of Real Red card stock with SNAIL.  I wrapped three strands of Real Red 3/8″ Satin Woven Ribbon around the panel and adhered them with SNAIL, then adhered the panel to a Pistachio Pudding card base with SNAIL.

Festival of Trees 1 - Stamp With Amy K

I adhered a panel of All Is Calm Speciality DSP to a panel of Real Red card stock with SNAIL, then adhered two strips of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper that I’d cut with the Large Scallop Edgelits Die with Glue Dots to the DSP Panel.  I adhered the layered panel to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals, then stamped the tree images from the Festival of Trees photopolymer stamp set in Pistachio Pudding, Garden Green and Real Red inks on a panel of Whisper White card stock.

Tree Punch - Stamp With Amy K

I punched all of the trees out with the matching Tree Punch, then punched four of the trees again in various sizes by adhering a sticky note to the top of the tree (helped me to easily move the punched image around once I slid it in the punch the second time) and punching the top part of the tree again to make it smaller.  I adhered the smaller trees to the DSP panel with SNAIL, then adhered the full size tree with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Festival of Trees 2 - Stamp With Amy K

I punched a star from Gold Glimmer Paper with the star punch from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack and I adhered it with a piece cut from a Stampin’ Dimensional, then I punched two little banners with the Banner Punch from Real Red card stock and I adhered them under the focal panel with SNAIL.  I stamped the little bird image from the Festival of Trees stamp set in Real Red ink, snipped it out and adhered it to the tree with a Glue Dot.  Then I cut the sentiment from Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper with a die from the Snowflake Card Thinlits Dies set and I adhered it with Glue Dots to the card front.

Festival of Trees 5 - Stamp With Amy KI stamped the sentiment and another tree with the Festival of Trees stamp set on a Whisper White panel inside the card.

Curvy Keepsake Box Thinlits Dies - Stamp With Amy K

I was able to cut the box with the Curvy Keepsake Box Die from the Trim The Tree DSP Stack papers, even though the papers are a little small for the die.

Curvey Keepsake Box Thinlits Dies 1 - Stamp With Amy K

I slid the die as far up as I could on the paper and made sure that I had a majority of the bottom of the box still in tact.  This is what the die cuts looked like after I ran them through the Big Shot.  When I adhered the two die cuts together at the base, there was enough overlap to create a sturdy bottom to the box.

Snowflake Card Thinlits Dies - Stamp With Amy K

I used the tree die from the Snowflake Card Thinlits Dies set to cut a tree from one of the die cut panels before I adhered the box together at the base with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  I cut a little panel from the Window Sheets and I adhered it with Sticky Strip to the back of the tree die cut in the box so that the you could still see inside, but the treats wouldn’t fall out.

Endless Wishes - Stamp With Amy K

I cut a tag with one of the dies from the Curvy Keepsake Box Dies set from Real Red card stock.  I stamped the sentiment from the Endless Wishes photopolymer stamp set in Real Red and Garden Green inks on a Whisper White panel and I punched them out with the Small Oval Punch.  I adhered the sentiment to the tag with SNAIL, then added a Gold Glimmer Paper star punch with a Glue Dot.  I tied the tag to the box with Pistachio Pudding Thick Baker’s Twine to complete it.
