Stampin’ Up! Letterpress Winter Snowflake Flip Card for Stamping and Blogging

I used the Letterpress Winter stamp set and the Snowflake Card Thinlits Dies to create my card to share today.  There is a new Stamping and Blogging sketch challenge today so once you check out my project, be sure to stop by the other design team members blogs to see what they’ve created with this sketch.

Letterpress Winter - Stamp With Amy K

My card design was inspired by the Stamping and Blogging SB83 Sketch.

Screen Shot 2014-11-25 at 4.16.08 PMI started by cutting a panel of Soft Sky card stock with the Snowflake Card Thinlits Die.  To get the extended card, I placed a 5-3/8″ x 8-1/2″ panel of card stock through the die so that half of it was under the cutting section and half was not.  You can see a photo of how to cut the extended flip card in my tutorial here.

Letterpress Winter 1 - Stamp With Amy K

I stamped the snowflake image from the Letterpress Winter photopolymer stamp set in VersaMark Ink, sprinkled it with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed it.  I did do a quick double check on the back side of the snowflake before heating it to make sure that I’d removed all of the stray flecks of Embossing Powder.  Some of the powder did make its way under the die cut.

I adhered a panel of Nordic Noel DSP with SNAIL to the extended panel on the right side of the card, then used the banner from the Snowflake Card Thinlits Dies to cut banners from Real Red card stock and Nordic Noel DSP.  I adhered the banners with SNAIL as well.

Letterpress Winter 3 - Stamp With Amy K

I cut a snowflake from Red Glimmer Paper with the Snowflake Card Thinlits die and adhered it over the stamped snowflake with touches of Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  Then I started on the belly band.

Letterpress Winter 2 - Stamp With Amy K

I adhered a 9″ strip of Nordic Noel DSP to a 9″ strip of Real Red card stock with SNAIL, then scored the strip at 2″ and again at 6-3/8″.  I adhered the belly band together on the back side with a little Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  Then I cut the sentiment with the Snowflake Card Thinlits die from Red Glimmer Paper and I adhered it with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

Letterpress Winter 4 - Stamp With Amy K

I added a panel of Whisper White card stock to the extended flap of the card so that I’d have room to write a little note.  Then I stamped the small snowflake image in Soft Sky ink across the inside of the card to complete it.

Now that you’ve seen my project, be sure to stop by the other Stamping & Blogging Design Team Member’s blogs to see what they’ve created with this sketch.
