I got together with my downline team member, Heather Van Looy, recently and we put together the Stampin’ Up! Watercolor Winter Simply Created Card Kit.
This is a really cute kit that contains the materials needed to make 20 holiday cards. The only thing that you will need is ink, adhesives and the Watercolor Winter Too stamp set to complete the kit according to the instructions. Heather and I were happy that we were able to each get 10 holiday cards created in one night!
We mostly followed the directions from the kit, but for the sled card, we used the Brayer with a Cherry Cobbler ink pad rather than the watercolor paintbrush. It made the sleds quick and easy to complete.
We also used the Brayer and an Old Olive ink pad to add the color to the trees for this card.
For this card, we used the Stripes Decorative Mask and a Sponge Dauber to add the stripes to the background on the card and we used a Sponge Dauber and Coastal Cabana ink to add the colors to the letters. We did find that it was easier to add the color to the letters before punching them out. We added a few of Rhinestones colored with the Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Blendabilities Marker and a few silver sequins from the Frosted Sequins pack.
We used the Sponge Dauber and Old Olive ink to ink up the letters for this card as well and we added a few sequins from the Frosted Sequins pack and a few Rhinestone Basic Jewels colored with the Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Blendabilities Marker.
One thing to know about this kit, it’s not a really quick kit to put together but we were really happy with the results. Plus it gave us plenty of time to chat! 🙂

Your pictures really made this kit come to life for me Amy 🙂 I love to see things up close and your tips for putting them together are wonderful. Brayer-ing is a good time saver and great tip on sponging the letters before punching them out. That could also apply to when we do Big Shot items as well 😉 Sometimes it’s so hard to get that color on the punch out when it’s fragile. Thanks for the awesome tips!! 😉
Thanks Jill! I’m glad that you liked our cards too. We were pretty happy to discover that a few of our shortcuts worked well. Both of us are too impatient to wait for all of that watercoloring to dry!! 😉
