Stampin’ Up! Big Day Masculine Birthday Card

I used the Stampin’ Up! Sale-A-Bration exclusive stamp set called Big Day to create my card to share today.

Big Day - Stamp With Amy K

My card design was inspired by Retrosketches #147.

Screen Shot 2015-01-07 at 2.58.27 PMI started by adhering a panel of Best Year Ever DSP (Sale-A-Bration item) to a panel of Soft Suede card stock, then to a Coastal Cabana card base with SNAIL.

Big Day 1 - Stamp With Amy K

I stamped the sentiment, cake and candle images from the Big Day stamp set (Sale-A-Bration item) in Soft Suede ink on a Whisper White panel, using my Stamp-a-ma-jig to help align them.  Then I colored the images with my Coastal Cabana, Daffodil Delight and Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blendabilities Markers (Sale-A-Bration items, also available in the Annual Catalog).  I adhered the stamped panel to a panel of Soft Suede card stock with SNAIL, then to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Big Day 3 - Stamp With Amy K

I stamped the ice cream sentiment from the Big Day stamp set in Coastal Cabana ink on a Whisper White panel and cut it out with one of the dies from the Circle Card Thinlits Dies set.  I adhered the sentiment with SNAIL to a die cut with the same die from Coastal Cabana card stock.  Then I tucked the layered sentiment under the focal panel and adhered it with SNAIL.

Big Day 2 - Stamp With Amy K

I finished the card front by coloring three of the pearls from the Artisan Embellishment Kit with my Dark Crumb Cake Stampin Blendabilities Marker (Sale-A-Bration item, also available in the Annual Catalog), then adhering them to the card front.

Big Day 4 - Stamp With Amy K

I stamped the happy birthday sentiment from the Big Day stamp set in Coastal Cabana ink on a Whisper White panel inside the card, then colored the letters with my Dark Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blendabilities Marker.  I adhered a strip of the Best Year Ever DSP to a strip of Coastal Cabana card stock, then to the Whisper White panel to finish the inside of the card.

  1. What a great looking masculine card, Amy! I’m always on the look out for them since I have so many guys in my family. Love the long sentiment with cake and then the extra sentiment on the side! A real Wow card with perfectly matched dp and pearls~

  2. Thank you Amy. I do not see, however, the sizes and color of the paper etc used on our email? Thanks, Faith Ralph

  3. Good Day, Amy! I really like the way you placed that sentiment on the side and I like the look of the Soft Suede cardstock just on each side of the card rather than a frame. Although it leans masculine, I think it could be used for either gender. Very cute stamps and a great card! Thanks for sharing.

  4. What an awesome card Amy 😉 The colors are perfect for guys (or girls) but hey, we always need guy cards, lol! I agree with Roberta and love the way your used the sentiment long and popped the additional sentiment off the side. The dark colored pearls are just the perfect addition to finish your card. Great card Amy 🙂
