I used the Stampin’ Up! Sale-A-Bration exclusive stamp set called For Being You and some of the Best Year Ever DSP and Accessory Pack to create my card to share today.
My card design was inspired by Pals Paper Arts 245.
I started by stamping the sentiment from the For Being You stamp set (Sale-A-Bration item) in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on three different panels from the Best Year Ever DSP pack (Sale-A-Bration item).
I used my Paper Snips to cut the letters from two of the DSP panels and I adhered them with touches of Multipurpose Liquid Glue to the polka-dot DSP panel. Then I stamped the second sentiment from the For Being You stamp set in Tuxedo Black Memento ink under the thanks. I adhered the stamped panel to a panel of Basic Black card stock with SNAIL.
I tied a bow from the Calypso Coral Ribbon in Best Year Ever Accessory Pack (Sale-A-Bration item) and adhered it to the card front with SNAIL, then adhered the layered panel to a Coastal Cabana card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I pulled strands of Basic Black Baker’s Twine through buttons from the Best Year Ever Accessory Pack and tied small knots on the back. I adhered them in a row to the card front with Glue Dots. To make sure the the buttons were adhered fairly straight and even, I used a ruler and I made small marks every 1/2″ that I used as my guide for adhering the buttons.
I stamped the little heart images from the For Being You stamp set across the bottom of a Whisper White panel in Coastal Cabana ink. I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to line up and stamp those images.
You can find a complete list of supplies, including card stock cuts, at the very bottom of this post.

Great card..love the buttons (with twine) lined up and very cool stamping on the DSP. Thanks for playing along with the Pals sketch challenge this week!
Thanks so much for stopping by to leave a comment Windy! 🙂
You created an amazing card using this sketch, Amy! I love the fun colors, array of buttons and cute little bow!
Thank you Roberta! 🙂
Adorable card, Amy! and a belated happy birthday!
Thanks so much Jodi! 🙂
Thanks for sharing this technique with us, Amy! I had see similar cards, but did not know how to get the print onto the letters… I think this technique is called “fussy cutting.” The size of the letters in this stamp set works nicely with this technique. Your directions are always so thorough and clear, Amy… thanks for sharing new ideas with us. Congratulations to the winner of this blog candy contest! I know you will have tons of fun with the prize.
Thanks Patricia! You are correct, it is called fussy cutting…and I struggle greatly with it. But this stamp set makes is so easy, the letters are big and fairly straight. 🙂
Curious why you stamped 3 panels of dsp but only used 2?
I used all three of the panels…I stamped the sentiment on the blue polka dot panel, the yellow panel and the orange panel. I cut the letters out from the orange and yellow panels and I glued them over the stamping on the blue panel. Thanks for stopping by to check out my card! 🙂
Cannot believe I missed your birthday… Happy Belated Birthday Wishes to you, Amy. You’re the best!
Thanks so much Melanie! No worries, I am always running late sending birthday wishes. 🙂
This set with the fussy cutting makes a awesome 3D effect! You crack me up Amy, you sound like me, lining up the buttons with a ruler 😀 I can’t stand it if something is not spaced or lined up evenly, lol. One reason I love the “green” liquid glue 😉 You can maneuver your piece just enough to fit right where you want it, yay!
Hee hee…yep, I couldn’t help myself. It would have made me crazy if those buttons were all crooked. 😀
I hope you had a wonderful birthday weekend…you deserve to be celebrated!! I really love this card. I’m always looking to make cards like this for my son’s teachers and I love the fussy-cut 3D look of the letters. I’ve gotta CASE it. TFS!
Thanks so much Tricia! Glad that you liked it, the letters are really easy to cut out too!
Amy that’s a great idea for the designer paper and it turned out so cute.
Thanks Sandi! 🙂
