Stampin’ Up! Butterfly Basics CAS Hello

I used the Stampin’ Up! stamp set called Butterfly Basics as well as the Hello You Thinlits Dies to create a clean and simple card to share today.

Butterfly Basics - Stamp With Amy K

My card design was inspired by CAS(E) this Sketch #118.

Screen Shot 2015-04-15 at 2.17.00 PMThe colors for my card were inspired by The Paper Players #240.

And the layering for my card was inspired by Can You Case It #65.

I started by cutting a circle from scrap card stock with one of my Circles Collection Framelits Dies.  I used Post-It Notes to secure the scrap paper over the panel of Whisper White card stock that I wanted to stamp and sponge.

Butterfly Basics 2 - Stamp With Amy K

I colored the flower image from the Butterfly Basics stamp set with my Strawberry Slush and Pistachio Pudding Stampin’ Write Markers, stamped the image off once on scrap paper, then stamped the image over the top of the circle that I’d die cut.  I repeated this process two additional times to add more flowers.

Butterfly Basics 1 - Stamp With Amy K

I inked the small butterfly image from the Butterfly Basics stamp set in Coastal Cabana ink, stamped it off on scrap paper once, then stamped it next to the flower images.  I sponged around the edges of the die cut circle with Pistachio Pudding ink, then I removed the scrap paper die cut, adhered the stamped panel to a panel of Coastal Cabana card stock with SNAIL, then to a Strawberry Slush card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Butterfly Basics 3 - Stamp With Amy K

I cut the sentiment with one of the Hello You Thinlits Dies from Coastal Cabana card stock three times.  I stacked them one on top of the other, adhering them together and to the card front with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  I added a single Pearl Basic Jewel next to the sentiment.

Butterfly Basics 4 - Stamp With Amy K

I inked the flower and butterfly images from the Butterfly Basics stamp set as described above and stamped them on a Whisper White panel inside the card.

  1. Because you stamped off, these look like “new” colors and they are so soft and pastel-like, Amy! Placing them inside a masked circle also gives a unique look all its own! Simple lovely~

  2. Your card makes me feel like we are peering through a window to the gorgeous outside view Amy 🙂 The way you stamped off the colors to soften them and gave the “window” a softened edge adds to that effect. Just fabulous!! Thanks for the eye candy today Amy 😉

  3. How very beautiful Amy! I love the softness created by the stamping off and sponging in your masked circle; it really makes your diecut sentiment pop! Thanks for joining in with my colour challenge over at The Paper Players this week!

  4. What a clever take on the sketch and our colors. Love the big sponged circle and how you made these bold colors look soft and subtle. Great job! Thank you for joining us at The Paper Players!

  5. Beautiful card! The subtle sponging of the circle really is effective. Thanks so much for joining us at The Paper Players.

  6. Hi Amy, fantastic job of combining the challenges. I love the softness of your stamping and how you’ve used the colours with the bold Hello over the top. Gorgeous card. Thanks for joining us this week at canyoucaseit.com
