Stampin’ Up! Bloom With Hope Birthday Card

I used the Stampin’ Up! hostess exclusive stamp set called Bloom With Hope to create my card for the Stamping and Blogging sketch challenge this week.  Be sure to stop by the other Design Team Member’s Blogs to see what they’ve created with this sketch!

Bloom With Hope - Stamp With Amy K

Here is the Stamping and Blogging SB101 sketch this week:

Screen Shot 2015-04-21 at 4.42.42 PMThe focal panel on my card was inspired by The Paper Players #241.

Screen Shot 2015-04-21 at 4.44.47 PM

I started by adhering two panels from the Painted Blooms DSP pack to a panel of Wild Wasabi card stock with SNAIL.  I wrapped a strand of Painted Blooms Cotton Twine around the panel three times, tied a bow, then adhered the panel to a Pacific Point card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Bloom With Hope 2 - Stamp With Amy K

I stamped the image from the Bloom With Hope stamp set in StazOn Jet Black ink on a panel of Watercolor Paper.  I used my Blender Pens to “color” the images in Soft Sky, Wild Wasabi, Pacific Point and Daffodil Delight inks.  A big thanks to my stamping friend Roberta for a little shove to give those Blender Pens another try…I love the way that this image turned out!  🙂

Bloom With Hope 1 - Stamp With Amy K

I added a little bit of Dazzling Details glitter glue over the two larger flowers, then let them dry completely.  I adhered the stamped panel to a panel of Wild Wasabi card stock with Fast Fuse Adhesive, then to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Bloom With Hope 3 - Stamp With Amy K

I stamped the sentiment from the Bloom With Hope stamp set in Pacific Point ink on a panel of Soft Sky card stock.  I cut the sentiment out with the banner die from the Gift Card Envelope & Trims Thinlits Dies set, then snipped the end the length that I wanted with my Paper Snips.  I adhered the banner to the Watercolor Paper with Fast Fuse Adhesive, then added a Pacific Point Candy Dot from the Brights Candy Dots pack to finish the card front.

Bloom With Hope 4 - Stamp With Amy K

I inked up the flower images again in Pacific Point ink, stamped them on scrap paper once, then stamped them on a panel of Whisper White card stock inside the card.

Now that you’ve seen my project, be sure to stop by the other Stamping & Blogging Design Team Member’s blogs to see what they’ve created with this sketch.

  1. You Rocked this image using those dusty blender pens, Amy! I Absolutely Love the depth you created by leaving bits of white space on the edges and darker blue toward the center! The yellow really pops nicely and the sparkle adds to the fun! Super sweet card~ ; ) You did good by using a small image (so as not to get discouraged).

    • Thanks so much Roberta! I appreciate all of your encouragement and help with this technique. I am really happy with how this turned out and I plan to keep trying! 🙂

  2. Stunning card Amy, the way you have coloured your flowers really makes them pop off the page. I think I will have to put this in my MUST case folder.

  3. So lovely and delicate… I appreciate your inspiration and encoragement, Amy. It’s really helping me find and develop my own aesthetic.

  4. Oh Amy, I’m so glad that Roberta talked you into dusting off the blender pens!! 🙂 I love the way the flowers look dimensional and the little addition of the dazzling details just flips it up to WOW, in a soft subtle way though, lol. You chose such beautiful colors too, this DSP is perfect with your flower image and the cool twine wrap. I agree with most here and I think this will be in my MUST case pin board (when I finally do get back on pinterest). It’s been way over a month I think. So….much….to….catch….up….on *sigh I’ll probably get back going in about a week or two, this end of school thing is really hit hard on my schedule. Everyone has something to do and we are getting over extended. Ok, done complaining 🙂

One question, did you use your stamp pad lids and pick up the ink from there? or did you use re-inkers? or even marker transfer method?? Just curious, it came out FABULOUS Amy 😀

I hope you got a fabulous night’s rest!! I’m hoping for the same here too, fingers crossed 😉

  5. So pretty! I love the patterned paper you chose and your watercoloring is beautiful. Thanks for sharing with us this week at The Paper Players!
