I am really trying to get a head start on my holiday cards this year and now that Stampin’ Up! has holiday stamp sets back in the big catalog, I’m finding it a bit easier. 🙂 I used the new Lots of Joy stamp set and the Merry Moments DSP to create my card to share today.
The layout for my card was inspired by Retrosketches #168.
And the colors and theme for my card were inspired by Merry Monday #163.
I started by embossing a panel of Cherry Cobbler card stock with the Stylish Stripes Embossing Folder. I adhered the embossed panel to a panel of Crumb Cake card stock with SNAIL. I cut a panel of the Merry Moments DSP and a panel of Crumb Cake card stock, punched them both with the Banner Triple Punch, adhered them together, then to the card front with SNAIL.
I cut larger panels from the Merry Moments DSP pack and from Crumb Cake card stock, placed them one on top of the other (so they’d end up cut at the same angle) and trimmed them at an angle. I adhered the two panels together and to the card front with SNAIL. I wrapped a strand of Whisper White 1/4″ Cotton Ribbon around the panel, adhering it with SNAIL, then adhered the layered panel to a Whisper White Thick card base (I LOVE this new thick card stock for card bases!!) with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I stamped the ornament image from the Lots of Joy stamp set in Cherry Cobbler ink on two panels of Whisper White card stock. I cut one of the ornaments out with Circles Collection Framelits Die, then adhered it over the other stamped image with SNAIL. I cut around the outside of the other stamped ornament with a larger Circles Collection Framelits Die, then adhered the layered image to a 2-1/2″ Circle Punch from Cherry Cobbler card stock. I adhered the layered ornament image to the card front with SNAIL.
I covered the top part of the sentiment image from the Lots of Joy stamp set with a Post-It Note, inked it up in Cherry Cobbler ink, removed the Post-it Note and stamped it on a strip of Whisper White card stock. I punched both ends with the Banner Triple Punch and adhered it to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I added a few Rhinestone Basic Jewels to finish the card.
I stamped the line image from the Lots of Joy stamp set twice in Cherry Cobbler ink on a panel of Whisper White card stock inside the card.

Wow you have a lot of energy girl! Christmas already! Love the bright red and white design you created!
Ha! I don’t know about that…but if I don’t get started early, I’ll never get them don! 🙂
Perfect card for both challenges. I especially like that touch of Crumb Cake cardstock. (It was 121 degrees here yesterday – maybe looking at your card will make me feel cooler!)
Thanks Melanie! Stay cool…it’s be in the high 90’s with yucky humidity here too, sure hoping that it cools off soon! 🙂
Great Christmas card, Amy! Wish I could get in the “spirit” but the weather is just too hot right now. I would love to sit on the beach with my feet in the sand and listen to the sound of the ocean. Thank you for all your inspirations!
Thanks Pat! I do agree with you on the heat…but I’m really trying focus myself and get a few of these done BEFORE December 24. 😉
Amy, this card is awesome!! I love the design and the different papers you used 🙂 Thanks for joining us at Merry Monday for my red/white challenge!
