Stampin’ Up! Watercolor Wash Butterfly Hello

It’s definitely a butterfly kind of day today!  This is my second blog post, if you’re looking for my card for The Paper Players PP253, click here to go right to that blog post.

I used the Watercolor Wash background stamp and some of the butterfly framelits to create my card for the Sunday Stamps SSC105 color challenge this week.

Watercolor Wash - Stamp With Amy K

Here are the Sunday Stamps SSC105 colors.  Be sure to stop by the Sunday Stamps blog to check out what the other Design Team Members have created with this sketch.

Screen Shot 2015-07-11 at 7.37.49 PMMy card design is based on one that I saw in the Stampin’ Up! catalog.  There is a beautiful card posted with the background stamps so I “borrowed” quite a bit of inspiration from that creation.  🙂

I started by inking the Watercolor Wash stamp in Smoky Slate ink, stamping it on scrap paper, then stamping it on a Thick Whisper White card base.

Watercolor Wash 2 - Stamp With Amy K

I cut a butterfly fly with the smaller die from the Bold Butterfly Framelits die set from Basic Gray card stock and I adhered it to the upper center of the card with a Glue Dot.

Watercolor Wash 3 - Stamp With Amy K

Then I used the smallest butterfly die from the Butterflies Thinlits die set to cut butterflies from Smoky Slate card stock and Smoky Slate DSP (from the Neutrals DSP Stack).  I adhered both butterflies with Glue Dots to the card front.  I cut a butterfly with the Bold Butterflies Framelits die from Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper and I adhered it with a Glue Dot over the Smoky Slate card stock butterfly.

Watercolor Wash 1 - Stamp With Amy K

I cut the sentiment with one of the Greetings Thinlits dies from Basic Gray card stock and I adhered it to the card front with touches of Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  I added two Rhinestone Basic Jewels to the center of each butterfly to finish the card front.

Watercolor Wings - Stamp With Amy K

I inked one of the solid butterfly images from the Watercolor Wings photopolymer stamp set in Smoky Slate ink, stamped it on scrap paper, then stamped it on a panel of Whisper White card stock twice.  I stamped the smaller Watercolor Wings image in Smoky Slate ink over the solid butterfly images, then adhered the panel inside the card.
