Stampin’ Up! Best Thoughts for Sketch and Stamp

I used the Best Thoughts Host Exclusive stamp set from Stampin’ Up! to create my card for Stamping & Blogging’s Sketch & Stamp SB115 sketch this week.

Best Thoughts - Stamp With Amy K

Here is Stamping & Blogging’s Sketch & Stamp SB115 sketch for the week.  Be sure to stop by the Sketch & Stamp Blog to play along!

I started by adhering two panels from the Pretty Petals DSP Stack to a panel of Calypso Coral card stock with SNAIL, then to a Very Vanilla card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I adhered a thin strip of Gold Glimmer Paper to the card front with Multipurpose Liquid Glue to cover the seam between the DSP.

I cut punched the ends of a strip of DSP from the Pretty Petals DSP Stack and a strip of Gold Glimmer Paper with the Banner Triple Punch and I adhered them to the card front with SNAIL (DSP) and Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Glimmer Paper).

Best Thoughts 3 - Stamp With Amy K

I stamped the flower image from the Best Thoughts Host stamp set in StazOn Jet Black ink on a panel of Watercolor Paper and I used my Blender Pens along with Calypso Coral, Old Olive and Daffodil Delight inks to color the image.

I stamped the sentiment from the Endless Thanks photopolymer stamp set in VersaMark Ink, sprinkled it with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and I heat embossed it.  The gold didn’t show up as much as I thought that it would, so I restamped the image in VersaMark Ink over the gold image (one of the bonuses of photopolymer stamps…you can see through them!), sprinkled it with Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder and I heat embossed it.  The sentiment turned almost a pewter color, I thought that it looked pretty cool when I got done with it!

I adhered the stamped panel to a panel of Calypso Coral card stock with Fast Fuse Adhesive, then to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Best Thoughts 1 - Stamp With Amy K

I stamped the butterfly image from the Best Thoughts stamp set in StazOn Jet Black Ink on a separate panel of Watercolor Paper and I colored the image with my Blender Pen and Calypso Coral and Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.  I cut the image out with my Paper Snips and adhered it to the card front with Fast Fuse Adhesive.

Best Thoughts 4 - Stamp With Amy K

I inked the butterfly and flower image from the Best Thoughts stamp set in Calypso Coral ink, stamped them off twice on scrap paper, then stamped them on a panel of Very Vanilla card stock.  I adhered the stamped panel to a panel of Calypso Coral card stock, then to the inside of the card with SNAIL.

  1. What a beautiful card Amy! I love the colors you used and also the touch of glimmer to hide the seem. That’s clever! You also did the inside, which is a very nice touch as well
