Stampin’ Up! Christmas Cuties for The Paper Players

I used the Stampin’ Up! Christmas Cuties stamp set to create my card for The Paper Players color challenge this week.

The layout for my card was inspired by Freshly Made Sketches 207.

I started by stamping the elf image from the Christmas Cuties stamp set in VersaMark Ink on a panel of watercolor paper.  I sprinkled the image with Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed it, then used my Cucumber Crush, Crushed Curry and Real Red ink pads and my Aqua Painter to watercolor the majority of the image.

Christmas Cuties 3 - Stamp With Amy K

I used Blushing Bride and Tip Top Taupe ink to watercolor the hair and skin on the image, then I set it aside to dry completely.  I stamped the sentiment from the Christmas Cuties stamp set in Cucumber Crush ink on a panel of Crushed Curry card stock, then I started assembling the card front.

Christmas Cuties 1 - Stamp With Amy K

I adhered a wide strip of the Home for Christmas DSP and the Crushed Curry panel with SNAIL to a Cucumber Crush card stock panel.  I adhered the watercolored image with Fast Fuse Adhesive to the Cucumber Crush panel, then adhered the layered panel to a Real Red card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Christmas Cuties 2 - Stamp With Amy K

I adhered two thin strips of Cucumber Crush card stock with SNAIL over the seams between the three panels, then punched a bow with the Bow Builder Punch from Cucumber Crush card stock.  I assembled the bow with Glue Dots and then adhered it to the card front with one last Glue Dot.

Versatile Christmas - Stamp With Amy K

I stamped the sentiment from the Versatile Christmas stamp set in Real Red ink on a panel of Very Vanilla card stock, then adhered a strip of Home for Christmas DSP to finish the inside of the card.

  1. Wow Amy, the Queen of Layers did it again!! You really did a gorgeous job, LOVE the space that really brought the bow to life 🙂 And the way you used the color challenge with this guy was spot on – he’s a keeper – cucumber crush looks very good on him. Who would’ve thunk, you did! 😉

  2. Amy, I love the little elf. Especially combined with the striped paper and the wonderful Cucumber Crush bow. Fabulous take on the challenge
