I used the Stampin’ Up! Happy Scenes and Festive Fireplace stamp sets to create my card for The Paper Players theme challenge this week.
Be sure to stop by The Paper Players blog to check out the awesome projects created by the other Design Team Members. And be sure to play along too! 🙂 Here is the theme for PP274:
The colors for my card were inspired by Pals Paper Arts PPA278.
I started by adhering a panel of Real Red DSP (from the Brights DSP Stack) to a panel of Whisper White card stock, then to a Cucumber Crush card base with SNAIL.
I stamped the tree image from the Happy Scenes photopolymer stamp set in Cucumber Crush ink on a Whisper White card stock panel, then stamped the snowflake images over it in VersaMark Ink. I sprinkled the panel with Heat & Stick Powder, heated it, then sprinkled it with Dazzling Diamonds Stampin’ Glitter and I heat set it again.
I cut a window from Crumb Cake card stock with the Hearth & Home Thinlits Die and I stamped the sentiment from the Happy Scenes stamp set in Real Red ink on the lower part.
I adhered a Window Sheet to the back of the die cut with Multipurpose Liquid Glue, then used the leftover dimensional strips from my To You & Yours Shaker Card Kit (you can also use the edging from your Stampin’ Dimensionals sheets) to create a dimensional frame on the back of the die cut. I poured about a half teaspoon of Dazzling Diamonds Stampin’ Glitter in the center of the Whisper White stamped panel, then adhered the window frame over the panel with the dimensional strips. I adhered the shaker window to the card front with SNAIL.
I stamped the cat, pine branch and bow images from the Festive Fireplace photopolymer stamp set in Crumb Cake, Cucumber Crush and Real Red inks on a panel of Whisper White card stock. I used my Blender Pen to add a little more Crumb Cake ink to the cat image and my Crumb Cake Stampin’ Write Marker to add a little color to the pinecone images, then cut them out with the matching Festive Fireside Framelits Dies. I adhered the die cut pieces to the window frame with Multipurpose Liquid Glue, then colored 6 Rhinestone Basic Jewels with a red Sharpie Marker and I adhered them to the pine branch image to finish the card front.
I stamped the sentiment and bow image from the Festive Fireplace stamp set in Cucumber Crush and Real Red inks on a Whisper White panel inside the card.
