I used the Stampin’ Up! Happy Home and You’re So Lovely stamp sets to create a quick card with a little watercoloring to share with you today.
My card design was inspired by Freshly Made Sketches #222.
And the little puppy on my card was inspired by The Paper Players #281.
I started by coloring the flower image from the Happy Home stamp set with my Wild Wasabi, Soft Sky and Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Write Markers. I stamped the image across the front of a Thick Whisper White card base.
I stamped the focal image from the Happy Home stamp set in Basic Black Archival ink on a panel of watercolor paper and I painted the image with Wild Wasabi, Soft Sky, Daffodil Delight, Real Red, Night of Navy, Blushing Bride (skin color) and Chocolate Chip (dog and hair) inks and my Aqua Painter.
I let the watercolor panel dry completely, then adhered it with Stampin’ Dimensionals to the card front. I stamped the banner image from the You’re So Lovely photopolymer stamp set in Wild Wasabi ink on a panel of Whisper White card stock. I stamped the sentiment from that stamp set in Tuxedo Black Memento ink, then cut the banner out with the matching Large Numbers Framelits Die.
I sponged the edges of the die cut banner with Wild Wasabi ink, then adhered it to the card front with Fast Fuse Adhesive. I added one of the Botanical Gardens Jewels with a Glue Dot to finish the card front.
I inked the image from the Happy Home stamp set in Soft Sky ink and stamped it on a Whisper White panel inside the card.

This card just makes me smile! I’d love to see a video of you watercoloring the panel–I’m still afraid to try it. TFS
Thanks Susan! I really do need to get a watercoloring video done. It’s actually really easy! 🙂
Love this card, Amy! Beautiful work, as always. I’m going to try to sort of CASE it – it (and the little dog in Beautiful Ride!) are my only dog/cat stamps – wanting to play with that challenge myself! 🙂
Thanks Mary! Can’t wait to see your creation for the challenge too! 🙂
Sweet card, Amy, and beautifully created. Brings back memories of childhood – I always needed my dad or big brother to get the kite in the air for me! I may have to try that challenge even though my stamp is for Christmas!
Thanks Melanie! I loved this little image too…reminds me of summer as a kid. 🙂 Definitely give the challenge a try! 🙂
Love, love your watercoloring Amy! I can practically feel the wind and smell the grass… Spring will be here soon, you’d think with all this rain, lol 🙂 You did an awesome job interpreting the sketch, the flowers sprinkled near the bottom are perfect!
Thanks Jill! Winter has suddenly returned to Atlanta for a few days…sure hope that we don’t end up with any snow this time. 🙂
Your water coloring is great on many cards! Have you done any full size pieces of art?
Thanks Brent! I haven’t done full-size watercolor paintings since I was a child, I used to love doing that…guess that I should start painting again! 🙂
We still have some of our child’s artwork done when they were very young. It is good chi to have some of it hanging around. 🙂
I think your followers would like to see some of your artwork on your website. 🙂
Sweet scene! You are great with that aquapainter!
Thanks Linda…not sure that I’m great with it, but I sure have fun playing in ink with it! 🙂
This is such a sweet card. I love your watercoloring too! Thanks for sharing with us at Freshly Made Sketches.

Absolutely beautiful. I love water colored cards.
Thanks so much Helen! 🙂
I love the way you used your watercoloured panel on your CAS card Amy – so subtle. I love the embellishment that you used to ground your sentiment too. Great job! Thanks for joining us over at The Paper Players this week!

This is just as sweet as can be! The image would be lovely all by itself, but combined with the sketch and little embellishments, it’s perfect! Thanks for sharing and playing with my challenge this week!
