Stampin’ Up! Sheltering Tree Thankful For You

I used the Stampin’ Up! Sheltering Tree stamp set to create a clean and simple card to share today.

Sheltering Tree - Stamp With Amy K

My card design was inspired by Freshly Made Sketches #231.

The colors for my card were inspired by Pals Paper Arts PPA295.

I started by trimming a panel from the Cherry On Top DSP Stack at an angle on one side, then adhering it to a Crumb Cake card base with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

Sheltering Tree 2 - Stamp With Amy K

I stamped the images from the Sheltering Tree photopolymer stamp set in Crumb Cake, Cucumber Crush and Bermuda Bay inks on a panel of Whisper White card stock.  I did stamp the grass images on scrap paper once before stamping them on the panel to give them a slightly different shade of color.  Then I adhered the stamped panel to the card front with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

Sheltering Tree 3 - Stamp With Amy K

I stamped the sentiment from the Sheltering Tree stamp set on a strip of Whisper White card stock in Bermuda Bay ink.  I adhered the sentiment strip to a strip of Bermuda Bay card stock with Multipurpose Liquid Glue, slid the end through my Banner Punch and punched it, then added a single Rhinestone Basic Jewel to the panel.

I looped a strand of Linen Thread twice and adhered it to the back of the sentiment strip with Glue Dots, then adhered the sentiment to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals to finish it.

Sheltering Tree 4 - Stamp With Amy K

I stamped the images from the Sheltering Tree stamp set in Bermuda Bay and Cucumber Crush inks on a Whisper White panel inside the card.

I have to say my absolute most favorite image from Stampin’ Up to date is the little snowman that came in the set “Tags & More” which is long retired, and a close second is the chubby chef from “Voila”, also long retired. One of my favorite more current images is the gorgeous peacock from “Perfect Peacock”. Thanks for the chance to win, it was fun to look back through my stamps

Blog Candy Package #2:  Big on You photopolymer stamp set (retired) and Home for Christmas Enamel Dots (retired)

  1. The card is ‘lovely’! I can’t seem to get my polymer stamp to work properly. The inside of the leaves of the tree will not stand for me. Stampinup sent me another set and it also will not stamp at the leaves correctly. Any suggestions? Sandra Warren sandwar@sbcglobal.net

    • Thanks Sandra. Try placing a soft surface (the Stampin’ Pierce Mat works great!) under your card stock when you stamp. The photopolymer stamps don’t have the cushion that the rubber stamps do, so sometimes you need to have something with a little give under it to get a nice image. Hope that works for you!

  2. Gorgeous Spring card, so much beautiful green with the Cucumber Crush! It’s taken me a little bit of time to get used to this color. I felt that way about Blackberry Bliss and now I’m so sad it’s going!

    * Congrats to the winners 🙂

Disney was exhausting! So tired, we need a vacation to recover from our vacation, lol 😀

    • Thanks Jill! Cucumber Crush took me awhile to warm up to as well, but I really like it and I’m using it more and more! Thinking about going to disney makes me need a vacation! 🙂

  3. Yay – finally made it over! Thanks so much for sharing the blog candy Amy, I’m so tickled that I won 🙂 Love the color combo you chose – Bermuda Bay is one of my favorite blues, and it pairs perfectly with Cucumber Crush.

  4. What a sweet card. I like what you did with that sketch challenge – especially the quirky design on the right side. Thank you for the blog candy. These are items I do not have so I’m very pleased!

  5. What a fabulous use of the colors this week! I love the added bit of DSP from the Cherry On Top stack – so much fun! Thank you for joining us this week at the Pals Paper Arts Challenge, I hope you play along again soon!
