Stampin’ Up! Penned & Painted for the Happy Stampers Blog Hop

HappyStampersBlogPostBannerI used the Stampin’ Up! Penned & Painted stamp set to create my cards for the Happy Stampers blog hop.  We’ve got a color challenge this week and since I wanted to soften the colors a bit, I pulled out my Aqua Painter and did a little watercoloring.

Penned & Painted - Stamp With Amy K

Here are the colors that we’re using this week:

July 14

I started by stamping the flower and leaf images from the Penned & Painted photopolymer stamp set in VersaMark Ink on the upper and lower corners of a panel of watercolor paper.  I sprinkled them with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed them.

Penned & Painted 1 - Stamp With Amy KI wet the entire panel with plain water using my Aqua Painter, then added just a little bit of Cucumber Crush ink to create a watercolor wash background.  I painted the flowers with my Aqua Painter and Flirty Flamingo, Daffodil Delight and Cucumber Crush inks then set the panel aside to dry completely.

Penned & Painted 2 - Stamp With Amy K

In the mean time, I decided that I liked the panel enough to create a second card with a different sentiment!  🙂

Penned & Painted 3 - Stamp With Amy K

Once the panels were dry, I stamped the sentiments form the Balloon Celebration photopolymer stamp set and the Blooms & Wishes photopolymer stamp set in VersaMark ink on the panels, sprinkled them with Copper Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed them.

Penned & Painted 5 - Stamp With Amy K

I adhered the stamped panels to panels of Cucumber Crush card stock with Fast Fuse Adhesive and then to Flirty Flamingo card bases with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I added a Rhinestone Basic Jewel next to the sentiment on one card and an enamel dot from the 2016-2018 Enamel Shapes pack next to the other.

Penned & Painted 4 - Stamp With Amy K

I stamped the flower an leaf images from the Penned & Painted stamp set in Flirty Flamingo, Daffodil Delight and Cucumber Crush inks on a Very Vanilla panel inside the card.

  1. wow, turned out beautifully amy and the layers of colored card stock for your card really show it off…I’m totally in love with the stamp set you used, it’s one of my absolute favourites from the new caddy

  2. Gorgeous card Amy! I love these colors together. You just seem to give any stamp set life. It’s hard not to like them all when you use them . It’s funny I didn’t think I would like the emerald green color either and I think it’s definitely one of my favorites. Loving these new in colors.

  3. Love your card Amy – the colors are really pretty together and look almost pastel the way you watercolored with them. Great layout too, will have to bookmark that for later 🙂

  4. Absolutely beautiful Amy! I like the way you color washed the background, such a great idea. I would have thought it would have come out too strong, but it’s not, it is beautifully vibrant 🙂 I’d better break out my aqua painter and try it out! Thanks for the inspiration!!

  5. So soft and feminine, Lovely flowers and the layout is just perfect too. Love the sentiment and how is pops.

  6. Oh, these are beautiful! That watercolor wash background is lovely and the subtle colors of the flowers without an outline are so pretty! I might need a video to be able to do this though! You painted the flowers with the aqua painter onto the stamps?
