Stampin’ Up! Vintage Leaves for Fab Friday

I used the Stampin’ Up! Vintage Leaves stamp set and the new (awesome!!) Cable Knit Dynamic Embossing Folder to create my card for the Fab Friday color challenge this week.  I borrowed a little inspiration for my leaf and pine bough spray from my stamping friend and team member, Mary Deatherage.  You can see her card here.

Here are the colors for Fab Friday 96.  Hope that you’ll stop by the Fab Friday Challenge Blog and play along too!

My card layout was inspired by Retrosketches 231.

I started by embossing a panel of Very Vanilla card stock with the Cable Knit Dynamic Embossing Folder.  If you haven’t seen it yet, here is a video that Stampin’ Up! created to show you the correct sandwich for this embossing folder.  It’s a little different than a standard embossing folder.  The video recommend spritzing the panel with water before embossing, but I found that I didn’t have to do that with the Very Vanilla panel that I used.

I adhered the embossed panel to a panel of Delightful Dijon card stock with SNAIL.  I wrapped a strand of 5/8″ Burlap Ribbon around the panel, adhering it with Fast Fuse Adhesive.  Then I added a strand of the Kraft Rope Trim, using Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere it, above the Burlap Ribbon.

I stamped five leaves with the Vintage Leaves photopolymer stamp set in VersaMark ink on a panel of Very Vanilla card stock, sprinkled them with Copper Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed them.   I cut the images out with the matching Leaflets Framelits dies and sponged them with Delightful Dijon and Emerald Envy inks.

I cut five die cuts from Delightful Dijon and Emerald Envy card stock with the Pretty Pines Thinlits Dies and then adhered the die cut branches and leaves to the card front with Glue Dots.  I cut the sentiment from Copper Foil Sheets with the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits die and adhered it to the card front with cut up Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I adhered the layered panel to an Emerald Envy card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals and then randomly adhered Emerald Envy and Silver enamel dots from the 2016-2018 Enamel Shapes and Metallic Enamel Shapes packs across the card front to finish it.

I stamped the images from the Vintage Leaves stamp set in Emerald Envy and Delightful Dijon inks across a Very Vanilla card stock panel inside the card.
