Stampin’ Up! Marquee Messages for the Happy Stampers Blog Hop

HappyStampersBlogPostBannerI used the Stampin’ Up! Marquee Messages stamp set to create a fun card for the Happy Stampers blog hop.  We’ve got a sketch challenge this week and here is the card that I created for it.

Here is the sketch that we’re using this week, I took a few liberties with it.  🙂

The colors for my card were inspired by Hand Stamped Sentiments #248.

I started by adhering a panel from the Fancy Frost Specialty DSP pack to a panel of Gold Foil Sheets with SNAIL and then to a Bermuda Bay card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped the marquee image from the Marquee Messages photopolymer stamp set in Basic Gray Archival ink on a panel of Pool Party card stock and then colored the little bars along the edge with a Pool Party Stampin’ Write Marker.  I stamped the “You Are” sentiment from the Marquee Messages stamp set in VersaMark ink on the Pool Party card stock panel, sprinkled it with Real Red Glitter Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed it.

I trimmed around the edges of the Pool Party stamped image and then adhered it to the card front with SNAIL.  I stamped the marquee image two additional times in VersaMark ink on panels of Real Red and Bermuda Bay card stocks.  I sprinkled the Bermuda Bay image with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed it and I sprinkled the Real Red image with Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed it.  I stamped the “Awesome!” sentiment in VersaMark ink on the Real Red panel, sprinkled it with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed it.

I trimmed around the lower part of the marquee on the Real Red card stock panel and around the arrow on the Bermuda By card stock panel.  I adhered the Real Red banner with SNAIL and the Bermuda Bay arrow with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I added four stars cut from Gold Glimmer Paper with touches of Multipurpose Liquid Glue around the sentiment to finish the card front.

**Quick Tip for cutting the stars:  Stamp the star images on the back of the Gold Glimmer Paper and cut around them.  The back of the panel is much easier to stamp on and see for cutting than the front is.

I stamped the sentiment and star images from the Marquee Messages stamp set in Bermuda Bay, Real Red and Pool Party inks on a Whisper White card stock panel inside the card.

  1. I’m back! And Ooohhh such an awesome card Amy 🙂 Great tip about flipping the glimmer paper over. I thought you might have embossed them and wondered how you kept them from flying all over the place, lol! Is the red embossing powder a fine powder? Really love the way your card shines right off the page 😉

    • Awesome! Thanks for your nice comments on my project. 🙂 The red embossing powder and glitter are both pretty fine, not quite as fine as the regular embossing powders but you can use them on sentiments without any problems. It’s really pretty!

  2. wow, you warmed your stamp room with your heat tool girlfriend, haha…beautifully embossed and love your choice of colours for this card too.

  3. This a real wow card Amy! All the sparkle and shine is perfect for the theme! Isn’t that the job of a marquee. …to grab your attention? This certainly does that! Thanks for playing along with us at Hand Stamped Sentiments!
