Welcome back to another Inkin’ Krew blog hop! Our very talented team is doing a blog hop featuring Stampin’ Up! products. This month our theme is “Celebrate” and I have chosen to to feature the awesome new Birthday Blast stamp set and Star Blast Edgelits Dies from the upcoming 2017 Occasions Catalog for my project.
My card design is loosely based on CAS(E) this Sketch #201.
I started by stamping the image from the Birthday Blast stamp set (available in a bundle with the Star Blast Edgelits Dies on Jan 4) in Crushed Curry ink on a Thick Whisper White card base. Then I used two of the coordinating Star Blast Edgelits Dies (available Jan 4) to cut a panel of Silver Foil Sheets.
I stamped the sentiment from the Birthday Blast stamp set in VersaMark ink on a panel of Dapper Denim card stock, sprinkled it with Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed it. I adhered the sentiment panel to the larger Silver Foil die cut and then to the card front with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
I adhered the thin swirl die cut under the sentiment with touches of Multipurpose Liquid Glue. I adhered four of the die cut centers from the stars around the sentiment with Multipurpose Liquid Glue and then added one of the Urban Underground Embellishments to the center of the larger star cutout to finish the card front.
I stamped the sentiment from the Dragonfly Dreams photopolymer stamp set (available Jan 4) in Dapper Denim ink on a panel of Whisper White card stock. I adhered the stamped panel to a panel of Dapper Denim card stock and then to the inside of the card with SNAIL. I added a few random die cut stars from Silver Foil sheets to finish the inside of the card.
You can find a list of supplies for this project, including card stock cuts, at the very bottom of this post.

Love your card! How did you match up the edgelit so perfectly with the stamped image?
Thanks so much Sandy! I was able to match the edgelit die cut by making the panel about 1″ larger than it needed to be and I trimmed it down to fit the size that I wanted. I’ve found with edgelits that making the panel oversized and trimming the excess gives me a much better result than trying to cut a panel that is sized exactly to what I want the end piece to be. Hope that helps! 🙂
