I used the Stampin’ Up! Day at the Beach and Suite Sentiments stamp sets to create my card for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop today. We’ve got a sketch challenge and this is what I created for it.
Here is the sketch that we’re using today:
The stamping on the background panel was inspired by Just Us Girls #376.
I started by stamping the images from the Day at the Beach stamp set in Night of Navy, Watermelon Wonder, Peekaboo Peach and Mint Macaron all over a panel of Whisper White card stock. I adhered the stamped panel to a panel of Mint Macaron card stock with SNAIL. I adhered a panel from the Carried Away DSP (Sale-a-bration item) to the top part of the Mint Macaron panel with SNAIL as well.
I wrapped a strand of Mint Macaron 3/8″ Sheer Linen Ribbon around the layered panel to cover the seam and adhered it with SNAIL. I wrapped a length of Linen thread around the panel twice and tied a bow, then adhered the layered panel to a Night of Navy card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I stamped the sentiment from the Suite Sentiments stamp set in Watermelon Wonder ink on a panel of Whisper White card stock. I inked the flip-flop and ice cream images from the Day at the Beach stamp set in Mint Macaron and Peekaboo Peach inks, stamped them on scrap paper once and then stamped them over the sentiment. I cut the sentiment out with a Layering Circles Framelits die.
I adhered the die cut circle to a Stitched Shapes Framelits die cut square from Mint Macaron card stock with Stampin’ Dimensionals and then added a square of Night of Navy card stock under it using SNAIL to adhere it. I adhered the layered sentiment to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals and then added a single Rhinestone Basic Jewel next to the sentiment to finish it.
I stamped the images from the Day at the Beach stamp set across the bottom of a Whisper White panel inside the card.

Oh – this is too cute!! Love your “DSP” and the way the “real” DSP looks like water at the beach. Perfectly designed! 🙂
Thanks Mary! 🙂
Totally fun! Love that paper and all the stamped images!
Thank so much Linda! 🙂
What a fun card! Love the color combo, which I wouldn’t have put together myself. Never would have guessed that piece of DSP is from the hot air balloon pack – you used it as the perfect watery-wavy backdrop.
Thanks Deepa! I tried a few different things with this card but kept going back to those little waves. It’s a great pack of paper with fun, summer colors! 🙂
What a fun card – great colors!
Thanks Melanie! 🙂
Wow, what a phenomenal way to interpret these sketches! Especially the first one, the faux DSP as your bottom layer and then the separation with the ribbon and twine, AWESOME! Love the way your mind works 😉
Thanks Jill! 🙂
Great job Amy. Love the DSP and the stamping of the summer fun images !! The touch of ribbon and linen thread add that extra. Hugs from me!
Thanks so much Shelagh! 🙂
This is so so cute. I love EVERYTHING about this card!!!
Thanks Jaimie! 🙂
Love the way to you made your own DSP with the stamp set. What a fun card to make especially in the middle of winter! Love your choice of paper and embellishments!
Thanks so much Kristi! Hope that things are warming up a bit out in your area! 🙂
Cute card! That paper looks like waves for the ocean and adds so much! Makes me ready for summer! 😉
Thanks Susan! 😊
Very cute, and I love how you created your own DSP. Such a fun card!!
Thanks Jari! 🙂
I love how you picked up the colors in the patterned paper for your all over stamping, Amy. This is a great card and I’m glad you shared it with us at Just Us Girls.
