Stampin’ Up! Avant Garden for Sunday Stamps

I used the Stampin’ Up! Sale-a-bration exclusive Avant Garden stamp set to create my card for the Sunday Stamps color challenge this week.

Here are the colors for Sunday Stamps SSC145.  Be sure to stop by the Sunday Stamps blog to see what the other design team members created and to play along too!

The design for my card was inspired by Stamp Ink Paper #83.

I started by stamping the flower images from the Avant Garden Sale-a-bration exclusive stamp set in Calypso Coral (not sure why the Calypso Coral looks so red in the photo!) and Peekaboo Peach inks on a panel of Whisper White card stock.  I stamped some full strength and some without reinking.

I stamped the stem and leaf images from the Avant Garden stamp set in Tip Top Taupe ink around the flowers, using Post-It Notes to mask off areas as needed.  Some were stamped full strength and some were stamped without reinking.  I added the flower centers in Early Espresso ink, some were stamped full strength and some without reinking.  I inked and stamped off the dot image from the Avant Garden stamp set in Smoky Slate ink and then stamped it randomly over the background around the flowers.

I adhered the stamped panel to a panel of Calypso Coral card stock and then to the Thick Whisper White card base with SNAIL.  I punched a 2″ Circle from Tip Top Taupe card stock and embossed it with the Woodgrain Embossing Folder.  I adhered the circle punch to the card front with SNAIL.

I stamped the sentiment from the Avant Garden stamp set in Calypso Coral ink on a pane of Whisper White card stock.  I punched the end of the sentiment strip with the Banner Triple Punch.  I inked and stamped off the flower image from the Avant Garden stamp set in Peekaboo Peach ink and then stamped it across the sentiment banner.  I wrapped a strand of Linen Thread around the banner, tied a small knot and then adhered the banner to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I added three Rhinestone Basic Jewels to the card front to finish it.

avant-garden-4-stamp-with-amy-k I stamped the flower and dot images from the Avant Garden stamp set in Calypso Coral, Peekaboo Peach, Tip Top Taupe, Early Espresso and Smoky Slate inks on a Whisper White panel.  I adhered the stamped panel to a panel of Calypso Coral card stock with SNAIL and then to the inside of the Thick Whisper White card base.
