I used the Stampin’ Up! So in Love and Falling For You stamp sets to create my card for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop today.  We’ve got a color challenge and this is what I created for it.

Here are the colors that we’re using this week:

The design for my card was inspired by CAS(E) this Sketch #211.

I started by inking the flower image from the So In Love stamp set in Sahara Sand ink, stamping it on scrap paper and then stamping it on a panel of Very Vanilla card stock.  I repeated that process and then used an Aqua Painter and a little bit of Blushing Bride ink to watercolor the individual petals.  I tried to be careful not to go outside the lines since I didn’t want the colors to blend much.

I let the watercoloring dry completely and then inked and stamped off the leaf and branch images from the So in Love stamp set in Sahara Sand ink around the flowers.  I stamped the sentiment from the Falling for You stamp set in Soft Suede ink on the Very Vanilla panel, then adhered the stamped panel to a panel of Soft Sky card stock with SNAIL and to a Sahara Sand card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped the flower image from the So in Love stamp set again, this time full strength, on a separate panel of Very Vanilla card stock.  I used an Aqua Painter and Blushing Bride ink to paint the petals on this flower as well.  I let the flower dry completely and then snipped it out and adhered it with Stampin’ Dimensionals to the card front.  I added three Soft Sky enamel dots from the Subtles Enamel Shapes pack to finish the card front.

I inked and stamped off the flower and leaf images from the So in Love stamp set in Sahara Sand ink on a panel of Very Vanilla card stock inside the card.
