Stampin’ Up! Carousel Birthday

I used the Stampin’ Up! Carousel Birthday stamp set and a little of the Cupcakes & Carousels DSP to create my card to share today.

My card design was inspired by Stamp Ink Paper #89.

The colors were inspired by Global Design Project #GDP077.

I started by adhering a panel from the Cupcakes & Carousels DSP Stack to a panel of Early Espresso card stock with SNAIL.  Then I adhered a thin strip of Early Espresso card stock down the left side of the panel with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  I added a wider strip of Bermuda Bay Glimmer Paper from the Glimmer Paper Assortment Pack (Sale-a-bration item) over the card front using Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere it.

I inked the carousel horse image from the Carousel Birthday stamp set in Bermuda Bay ink, stamped it on scrap paper once and then stamped it on a panel of Very Vanilla card stock.  I used a Blender Pen and a little bit of Peekaboo Peach ink to add color to the saddle and horses main and tail and then I stamped the sentiment from the Carousel Birthday stamp set over it in Early Espresso ink.

I cut the image out with a Layering Circles Framelits Die and I adhered it with SNAIL to a circle that I’d cut with the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies from Early Espresso card stock.  I adhered the sentiment circle to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals and then added a Peekaboo Peach enamel dot from the 2016-2018 In Color Enamel Shapes pack.  I adhered the layered panel to a Bermuda Bay card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals to finish it.

I inked and stamped off the carousel horse image in Bermuda Bay ink, then stamped it on a panel of Very Vanilla card stock.  I added the sentiment from the Cool Treats photopolymer stamp set in Early Espresso ink over top to finish the inside of the card.

You can find a list of supplies, including card stock cuts, at the very bottom of this post.

  1. What a beautiful play of the DSP & the BB glimmer paper – it makes a bold statement. And of course your layers are spot on to add the extra pop 🙂 You really are working this stamp set, lol!! Love all the ideas, Amy 😉

  2. Amy, I have loved this new stamp set, but I haven’t seen a ton of ideas using it, so I was delighted to see you use it on our challenge this week! Thanks for joining us at Stamp, Ink, Paper! Crystal

  3. Great use of the DSP for this challenge Amy. Why didn’t I think of that, lol. Lovely card as always. Thanks for playing at Global Design Project with us this week and good luck with the guest designer pick.

  4. How do you do it? Every card you create is so pretty! I love this. I used to collect carousel horses but downsized my collection when we downsized our household to retire. I may have to CASE (as in shamelessly copy) your design.
