Stampin’ Up! Carousel Birthday Banner Card

I used the Stampin’ Up! Carousel Birthday stamp set to create my card to share with you today.

My card design was inspired by Sketch Saturday #455.

The theme for my card was inspired by Global Design Project #GDP079.

And the birthday sentiment was inspired by Stamp Ink Paper #91.

I started by inking the splatter image from the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set in Early Espresso ink, stamping it on scrap paper and then stamping it across a panel of Bermuda Bay card stock.  I adhered the stamped panel to a panel of Early Espresso card stock with SNAIL.

I cut strips of designer paper from the Cupcakes & Carousels DSP Stack and punched the ends with the Banner Triple Punch.  I adhered the banners to the Bermuda Bay panel with SNAIL and then adhered the layered panel to a So Saffron card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped the horse image and sentiment from the Carousel Birthday stamp set in Early Espresso and Bermuda Bay inks on a panel of Very Vanilla card stock.  I inked the tent image from the Carousel Birthday stamp set in So Saffron ink, stamped it on scrap paper and then stamped it the Very Vanilla card stock panel two times.  I inked the splatter image from the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set in Early Espresso ink, stamped it on scrap paper twice and then stamped it over the edges of the Very Vanilla panel.

I adhered the stamped panel to a panel of Early Espresso card stock with SNAIL and then to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I adhered the little paper bow from the Cupcakes & Carousels Embellishment Kit to the card front with a rolled up Glue Dot and then added a Rhinestone Basic Jewel to finish it.

I stamped the sentiment from the Balloon Adventures photopolymer stamp set in Bermuda Bay ink on a panel of Very Vanilla card stock.  I inked the tent image in So Saffron ink and stamped it off, then stamped it on the panel and I added the splatter image in stamped off Early Espresso ink to finish the inside of the card.

  1. I am currently totally enthralled with this stamp set and Designer Paper so I love your sample of this card, very creative stamping and I love what you did with the dsp.

    • Thanks Sandi! I was a little on the fence about the paper and stamp set when I saw it in the catalog…but now that I’m playing with them, I love them both!! 🙂

  2. I love the layout you used – those little banners are so festive. The carousel horse is such a fun detailed stamp, I can’t wait to play with it sometime. I haven’t gotten the paper yet – it’s a little more “shabby/vintage” which isn’t quite my style … but I’m liking the patterns you’ve been showcasing so might have to sneak in one last order 🙂

    • Thank Deepa! The paper is definitely not my normal style, but I am actually really liking some of the patterns with smaller details like the polka dots. The colors are so pretty! 🙂

  3. I haven’t had the opportunity to use this set yet, but think it may become a fav. Who doesn’t like carousels? Nice layout and love the colors. Gorgeous Grunge gets a workout here, especially the splatter.

  4. Hi Amy, love the combo of products you’ve used. I have that set but have not used the Carousel horse yet but I love what you’ve done here. Thanks so much for joining us this week at Stamp, Ink, Paper. Carolyn xx
