Stampin’ Up! Background Bits for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

I used the Stampin’ Up! Background Bits host exclusive stamp set from the upcoming 2017-18 Annual Catalog to create my card for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop today.  We’ve got a sketch challenge this week and this is what I created for it.

Here is the sketch that we’re using this week:

I started by adhering a panel from the Color Theory DSP Stack (available June 1) to a Crushed Curry card base with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  The I adhered a smaller panel from the Color Theory DSP Stack to a panel of Crushed Curry card stock and then to the card front with SNAIL.

I adhered a strip of Burlap Ribbon across the card front with Fast Fuse Adhesive and then started stamping.  I colored the flower image from the Background Bits stamp set (host exclusive item available June 1) with Crushed Curry and Old Olive Stampin’ Write Markers and I stamped the image on a panel of Whisper White card stock.  I cut the flower image out with a Layering Circles Framelits die, adhered it with SNAIL to a scalloped circle cut with another Layering Circles Framelits die from Old Olive card stock and then to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped the sentiment from the Background Bits stamp set in Crushed Curry ink on a strip of Whisper White card stock.  I punched the end with the Banner Triple Punch and adhered it with Stampin’ Dimensionals to the card front.  I added an Old Olive glitter dot from the Glitter Enamel Dots pack (available June 1) to finish the card front.

I stamped the border image from the Background Bits stamp set in Crushed Curry ink on a panel of Whisper White card stock on the inside of the card.

  1. OMG, this is too funny, we have created another card almost exactly alike! I love your card, beautiful color choices! Does that mean I am loving mine, too? LOL! Beautifully done, Amy! Our inside is similar, too, how funny is this? 🙂

  2. I love the ombré paper and the bright crushed curry! Wax surprised to see Jari card also! Thought maybe I missed that you were to all use the same stamp set!!

  3. this is really beautiful. Did you apply ink with a bayer to get the tone of the paper to go from dark to lighter?

    Thanks
