Stampin’ Up! Beautiful Day with Brusho Crystal Colours

I pulled out my new Brusho Crystal Colours and Beautiful Day stamp set from the upcoming 2018 Stampin’ Up! Catalog to play a bit.  I’ve never used Brusho before, it was a lot of fun and really easy to do!

I started by stamping the butterfly image from the Beautiful Day stamp set (available Jan 3) in VersaMark Ink on a panel of watercolor paper.  I sprinkled the image with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed it.  Then I added water with a Aqua Painter to the butterfly image and sprinkled a little of the Prussian Blue Brusho crystals (available Jan 3) over it.  I used my Aqua Painter to move the blue around a bit and then added a little of the Moss Green over the center of the image.

I used my Aqua Painter to spread a few of the Brilliant Blue crystals over the entire panel in a watercolor wash and then let the panel dry completely.  After the panel dried, I stamped the “you” sentiment from the Amazing You stamp set (Sale-a-bration exclusive, available Jan 3) in Night of Navy ink next to the butterfly.  I adhered the watercolor panel to a panel of Night of Navy card stock with Fast Fuse Adhesive and the to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I cut a panel of Champagne Foil Sheets with the Celebrate You Thinlits Dies (Sale-a-bration exclusive, available Jan 3) and then adhered the die cut sentiment to the card front with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  I added a Rhinestone Basic Jewel next to the sentiment to finish it.

I stamped the sentiments from the Amazing You stamp set in Night of Navy and Old Olive inks on a panel of Whisper White card stock and then inked the butterfly image from the Beautiful Day stamp set in Night of Navy ink, stamped it on scrap paper twice and stamped it on the Whisper White panel inside the card.

You can see a list of supplies, including card stock cuts, used to create this project at the very bottom of this blog post.

Occasions and Sale-a-bration Catalog Delivery Update

Well…if you watch the news, you’ve probably heard that Atlanta got a little of the white stuff yesterday.  This picture was pretty early on in the snow event.

Here it was a few hours later, a bit more snow on the ground.  The kids had a ball running around in the back yard and making snowmen.

But ultimately, the little bit of snow ended up causing this to happen with the catalogs that I’d ordered…they’re sitting in a town about 30 minutes from me and I had no way to get them.  They’ve been rescheduled for delivery on Monday so I’m hoping that they’ll be delivered without incident then!

In the mean time, I’m printing shipping labels and attaching them to envelopes so that they’re all ready to go as soon as the catalogs arrive.  If all goes as planned, the catalogs will be in the mail on Tuesday and should be arriving in your mail boxes next week.  So sorry for the delay!  Apparently Mother Nature decided to put a kink in my awesome plan to get your catalogs out this weekend.

If you’ve ordered from me within the last year, you are automatically on my mailing list to receive a copy of the catalogs.

If you are not a current customer of mine but would like to be, you can request your copies of the catalogs on my Catalog Request page here.  I’ll be mailing them out just as quickly as I can once they arrive at my house!

  1. Great job with the Brusho. I watched Diane Dimmich live the other night and she did the one that is on the Occasions catalog. Between the two of you, I now HAVE to get that stamp set!

  2. Wow – this is gorgeous! I’ve been stalling using it – too much on the plate for a minute! And I want to be able to take my time and try to avoid a hot mess! You’ve used it beautifully!! 🙂

    • Thanks Mary! As long as you only poke one or two small holes in the top, you’ll be fine. Give them a try! They’re not nearly as messy as I thought they’d be. 🙂

    • Thanks Robbye! They’re pretty easy to use and really not very messy as long as you don’t poke a bunch of holes in the top! 🙂

  3. Oh Amy, this card is breathtaking. I want to try this one. One Question, I take it when you apply the Brusho, it resists the embossed image? I see no color there and was wondering how you kept the butterfly image so clean?

    • Thanks Kristi! The embossed area does resist most of the color. You can see a little bit of green and blue over the white areas, but for the most part it doesn’t leave color on the embossing. If you do get color on it, you can always just wipe it off after the rest dries a bit. 🙂
