Stampin’ Up! Magical Day for the December Birthdays Blog Hop

Welcome to the December Birthdays Blog Hop!  We’re a group of Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators from all over the world who joined up to show off some birthday cards during the middle of the holiday craziness.  My daughter’s birthday is today and my Dad’s birthday is next week so I need to get some birthday cards done this month too!  I used the Magical Day stamp set bundle from the upcoming 2018 Occasions Catalog to create a birthday card for my daughter, who loves all things wizarding.  🙂

I started by adhering panels from the Myths & Magic Specialty DSP (available Jan 3) to a panel of Basic Black card stock with SNAIL.  It’s hard to see it in the photos, but this paper has awesome shimmer over many of the images!  I wrapped a strand of Basic Black Solid Baker’s Twine around the panel twice, tied a bow and then adhered the panel to a Basic Gray card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped the sentiment from the Magical Day stamp set (available Jan 3) in Fresh Fig ink on a panel of Whisper White card stock and I cut around it with a Layering Circles Framelits die.  I stamped the sentiment again in VersaMark Ink on a panel of Basic Black card stock, sprinkled it with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed it.  I cut the sentiment from the Basic Black card stock with the banner die from the Magical Mates Framelits Dies (available Jan 3) and adhered it over the circle die cut with SNAIL.

I stamped the sparkles image from the Magical Day stamp set in VersaMark Ink on the Whisper White card stock circle, carefully sprinkled it with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed it.  I adhered the Whisper White circle with SNAIL to a circle cut from Basic Black card stock with a larger Layering Circles Framelits Die and then to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped the wizard image from the Magical Day stamp set in Tuxedo Black Memento ink on a panel of Whisper White card stock and colored it with light and dark Rich Razzleberry and Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends Markers.  I also used the Ivory and Color Lifter Markers to lighten the beard and add the skin colors.  I cut the image out with the coordinating Magical Mates Framelits Die and adhered it with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals to the card front.

I stamped the sentiment from the Perennial Birthday stamp set (available Jan 3) in Fresh Fig ink and the images from the Magical Birthday stamp set in Basic Gray and Daffodil Delight inks on a Whisper White card stock panel inside the card.
