Stampin’ Up! Rooted in Nature for Stamp Ink Paper

I used the Stampin’ Up! Rooted in Nature stamp set bundle and Special Celebrations stamp set to create my card for the Stamp Ink Paper tic-tac-toe challenge this week.

Here is the tic-tac-toe graphic for Stamp Ink Paper #153.  I went down the left side.  Hope that you’ll stop by the challenge blog to play along too!

My card also works for Just Us Girls #443.

I started by stamping the sentiment from the Special Celebrations stamp set in Soft Suede ink on a panel from the Wood Textures DSP Stack.  I adhered the stamped panel to another panel from that stamp DSP Stack with SNAIL and then to a Mossy Meadow card stock panel with SNAIL.

I used my Stamparatus to ink the tree from the Rooted in Nature stamp set.  I inked the top of the tree in Mint Macaron ink and the bottom of the tree in Soft Suede ink initially and I stamped them on a panel of Soft Sea Foam card stock.  I used a Sponge Dauber to add Shaded Spruce ink and then Mossy Meadow ink to different areas of the tree to give it a little variation in color.  Since I’d used my Stamparatus, I was able to add ink with the Sponge Daubers in various places and re-stamp the image over and over.  I cut the tree image out with the coordinating Nature’s Roots Framelits Die.

I cut a small piece of 5/8″ Burlap Ribbon and pulled the string that holds the larger strands together off from about half of the ribbon length.  I adhered the piece of ribbon to the DSP panel with Glue Dots and then adhered the die cut tree image over it with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I added one of the Leaves Trinkets with a rolled up Glue Dot next to the sentiment and then adhered the layered panel to a Soft Suede card base to finish it.

I stamped the sentiment from the Special Celebrations stamp set in Soft Suede ink on a panel of Whisper White card stock inside the card.  Then I inked the leaf image from the Rooted in Nature stamp set in Mint Macaron ink and used a Sponge Dauber to add Shaded Spruce and Mossy Meadow inks before stamping it next to the sentiment.

You can see a list of supplies, including card stock cuts, used to create this card at the very bottom of this blog post.

  1. The way you did your burlap ribbon makes it look like the earth! The card I posted last night could be related to yours. I love how you stamped the tree. It makes a big difference rather than leaving it uninked as I did.

  2. Beautiful card, Amy. ‘course, any card with a tree is beautiful in my book. I like the way you colored the tree. Hadn’t thought of that, though I just did 2 cards with the leaves from that stamp set, and used sponge daubers to give them variation in color. Thanks for the inspiration.

  3. That tree is awesome–love the subtle variation in the colors. The burlap treatment caught me eye too. How creative! TFS.
